Getting our message across-Left vs. Right
Edited on Thu Nov-11-04 01:16 PM by EstimatedProphet
I think probably everyone realizes this, but it bears repeating because of the implications.
We on the left tend to try and make our point with a big noise-we organize marches, speeches, other things that are one big effort to get out the word, loudly and at once. The right is quieter, but they're around 24/7. Their media gets their message out all the time, until it becomes a kind of white noise that stays in the background so that most people don't even hear it anymore.
The upshot of this is that we do get our point across, but it gets drowned out after a short period and forgotten. We are starting to change things with Air America and LinkTV, but we still have a long way to go. This is not to say that we shouldn't organize big events. On the contrary, we should still do just that, but we also need to add in a 24/7 component for the entire nation, not just a few cities. Air America is trying to do just that, and hopefully they will be able to succeed.
