How long before Karl Rove hails Bush as The Second Coming?
Edited on Thu Nov-11-04 04:18 PM by Cyrano
Hey, if there's no 666 anywhere on his body, he must be the ONE.

Religiously deranged people who voted for him because they thought God talks to him (or were told so by Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell) must be discounted as zealots, mentally ill, or too stupid to be allowed to vote.

Did that sound harsh? Good, it was meant to.

We've clawed our way out of the caves, out of the dark ages, out of superstitions that burned people at the stake, and where are we? Right back in the dark ages.

Wake up, America, before you find yourself tied to a stake with some fanatic about to drop the torch on the timber at your feet.

Overwrought? Over the top? Too extreme. I wonder how many Europeans (mostly Jews) said that and then found themselves waiting for a shower and getting gassed instead?

"Those who refuse to learn from history are doomed to repeat it."

1. Christmas?

I have often used the exact same analogy. Some truths are too horrible to contemplate and people will rationalize away the mounting evidence.

2. Edmond Dantes, any suggestions on how to wake people up to
the possibility of what could happen?

I've used analogies like this many times, but the only people who seem to get it are very old people whom I know, who have tatoos on their arms.

Right now, I'm down to banging my head against the wall and weeping.

4. Consistent with Lilli's remarks...
and your own comment, if it's not within their frame of reference they are not likely to understand what is happening.

I don't have numbers on my arms, but I have other personal experience that informs my assessment. In the wake of my experience, I am much less dismissive of conspiracy theories than I used to be. And, I admit, I could not believe what I was seeing/hearing at first. Only after repeated exposure to it was I finally able to say to myself: Holy shit, this is really happening--right here in the US right under everyone's nose.

3. I've looked at it from an anti-christ AND a new Hitler perspective
and with tin foil hat firmly in my hand, I say you can make the case for both...the problem is that many dont see it that way....
