NBC "news"...calling evidence of stolen election "conspiracy theories"
Edited on Thu Nov-11-04 07:00 PM by linazelle
and the internet from which most of the claims come from "a parallel universe."

They show the claims of votes being cast on computers for Kerry registering as Bush votes, and the Ohio votes for Kerry going to Bush as well as Nader saying there was vote tampering.

Then, they have one guy, credentials unnamed, poo-pooing all the claims in summation saying "no, I don't think the election was stolen."

Oh well, that settles it. Move on. Nothing to see here.

PS: They added that Kerry stated today that the election outcome is "not in doubt."

1. that's funny
I thought conspiracy theories weren't worthy of corporate tee-vee.

These corporate whores are hedging their bets, as always.

19. Oh, THAT'S why W. said "internets"!
because on his internet, Niger conspired to sell yellowcake to Iraq, and Hussein conjured WMD's out of sand, and Mohammed Atta conspired with bin Laden though his ass was in spain, and gays in his alternate internet conspire to turn your children in to drag queens, and moose conspire together to shut down the entire snomobile industry, and caribou have a major conspiracy againt pipelines, etc. etc ad nauseum.

How dare they even say the CT words when the biggest conspiracy theorist in this country sits in the fucking oval office.

22. Isn't the whole "Saddam and 9/11" a conspiracy theory?
Why doesn't the whorporate media ever call it that? (Probably because it's even less substantiated than any populist 'conspiracy theory.')

9. NPR read a letter today complaining that NPRs coverage...
...of this issue was bad journalism.

The letter said that NPR's reporter just gave his opinion that there was not fraud, didn't tell us what facts he was relying upon, and didnt' give listeners the opportunity to hear both sides of the story from first-hand sources.

That's not exactly and endorsement of the idea that there might have been fraud, and I won't hold my breath for the day NPR stops using its reporters to spin stories rather than just report facts.

14. Best indication that there might be a story there is that "journalists"
Edited on Thu Nov-11-04 07:22 PM by AP
use this tactic to address the questions -- they're so eiger to tell us there isn't a story, but don't have any facts to present that suggest that there isn't a story.

If they had better explanations, they'd give them. Instead we're left with the reporters' personal opinions served up disguised as reporting.

8. Definitely BS. No investigation or FACTS to rebuke the claims at all
They basically dismiss them claims as conspiracies. When will people wake up and see through this veil of deceit?

6. "conspiracy theories"
It's just a nice little way of dismissing something you don't want to think about.

In a way, I ALMOST feel sorry for the media. Here they are, with what would undoubtedly be the STORY OF THE FUCKING CENTURY and they're so far up *'s ass they can't persue it. Little cannibalistic bastards have gotta be twitching every time they have to dismiss it to appease their Republican overlords.

10. ABC, NBC, CNN
Those three are scared of us. CBS seems to have been ignoring the issue, except for an online-only piece. MSNBC is also pretty silent as a whole, except for Keith Olbermann and David Shuster.

For them to address those of us on the web shows they can't stand being questioned either, much like our president.

it's the media equivalent of Bush's classic: "I know how the world works".

They define reality, and thusly, define non-reality.

26. Such a good point, the secrecy of this administration, the media
not holding this administration accountable, the lock down on voting machines and election results. And they are asking why we are skeptical?

They just want to keep a thumb on us. They want to be the media gods who tell us what to think.

25. I remember Jeff Greenfield of CNN once had the gall to call
Noam Chomsky's views as those "from Neptune".This about a man who is considered by everyone to be a scrupulously honest and truthful writer and, let us even forget that he is considered by many to be one of the foremost intellectuals of our time. The common tactic of these midget blabbermouths on TV is to simply brand all opinions that fall outside their so called "Conventional Thinking" (CT, for short)
as "Conspiracy Theory" ( That nasty acronym CT again). In short, their CT is OK.Our CT is bad.

27. What they call "conspiracy" ... I call "democracy".
Let's face it....the main stream media is scared of the internet!!! They can't stand that now you have to be on-line to get the "scoop" not watching T.V. Who was doing all the fact checking during the election???? Was it a conspiracy that the media reported lies, until the internet proved the truth???

I say....keep supporting Keith Olbermann and MSNBC...they are doing a great job! Here is the e-mail link: <http://www.congress.org/congressorg/dbq/media/?command=org_pages&org_id=558>
