Everything is just simmering, waiting to come to a full boil -
that is just my sense of where we are at right now.

I was out at a Veteran's Day service today and a few people came up to me knowing that I had been actively involved in this election(canvassing, phone banking etc) they asked how I was doing and they expressed their unhappiness about the outcome. I mentioned what I had seen on DU this morning about Ohio.

Their eyes GLEAMED. There is no other word to describe it.These people are reg. Indep

I hope that whatever happens MORE people get involved and start talking about politics

2. I like that image, all the pots being stirred, simmering and ready
for the full boil when the heat is turned on high

4. It's right under the surface
A fellow came to the office today, to get money for the Support Our Troops magnets my boss had bought from him. I mentioned I'd gotten mine to help our local Guard unit pay for supplies that I said the government should have paid for-the guy gritted his teeth and said, "I know."

5. People have been seething since Bush stole the office in 2000
I haven't felt this level of quiet rage since the late 50s, just before the black community exploded into the civil rights struggle.

The main problem now is that we on the left have become so damned rational. All the crazies seem to be on the extreme right fringe, so I guess that rules out Luddite attacks on machine voting before the next election.

In the short term, I'm afraid we're going to have to sit back and let this bunch do their worst without giving them anyone to blame when it all explodes in their stupid, greedy faces.

When the smug looks start to degenerate into horror, then we can act.

it. IdaBriggs, TruthIsAll, althecat, Eloriel, nodehopper, faunotter and others are genuine heroes.

7. I'm just glad DU is waking up to it.
I think they really loved my PAY ATTENTION yelling. Now I don't have to yell cause everyone is awake and the cap is about to blow!
