New conspiracy theory: ACLU got * reelected!
From an email from the ACLU:

In a full-page advertisement in the New York Times, the American Civil Liberties Union called on civil libertarians to redouble their efforts to oppose the Bush Administration's "unrelenting assault on our civil liberties."

Even before the advertisement ran last Thursday, the ACLU experienced our largest ever surge in online donations - more than 1,200 unsolicited gifts totaling more than $65,000 (an average of $54 per person) in one day.

Hmm! Follow the money! Who benefits most from a Bush reelection?

6. False causality.
That is inane!

Following that line of logic, anyone who stood to gain from anyone being elected to any office at any time, can be considered suspect.

9. Horse crap!
That's not even funny. The ACLU has been fighting our battles even when our own party rolls over for BushCorp. Gay rights, voting rights, civil liberties, et al -- yes, they've got their hands more than full, especially now.

Have you ever been to an ACLU meeting? Do you belong to the ACLU? I DO -- and it's not something people do for money, but for principles, for civil liberties, and for the defense of our Bill of Rights.

Is this what the ACLU can expect from folks like you -- you ought to THANK THEM that there are still some folks out there who are fighting the good fight, day in and day out.

If this is supposed to be a joke you need to grow a new sense of humor.

10. Sheesh... it's a commentary on conspiracy theories here
NOT the aclu...

Could I have picked anything less likely to want that thing in office? I didn't think so... and people still aren't sure if it's a joke. Oh well.
