"The inaugural is a rich, symbolic, highly visible target"
For details, see
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A31016-2004Nov6.html

I guess this means that president pinhead has commanded that no signs of dissent be visible on Mandate Inauguration Day. Can't have an embarassing moment like back in 2001 when tens of thousands showed up to give him the finger and egged his car....

To FBI who are monitoring DU -- aww, come on -- do you guys REALLY think "Al Qaeda" is considering an attack on the inaugural balls, etc? I KNOW most FBI agents are very smart cookies, quite on top of things and some weirded out by how they have been directed and misdirected to act against "terrierists" and peaceniks and hookers while all sorts of heavy shit is going down -- but that you have some pretty stupid ideologically driven leadership who sabotages your great work, who later blame **you** when the heavy shit does come down from **their** bad decisions..... (we READ, so we know). Yeah yeah, maybe there is a REMOTE infinitissimal chance of some jihadist considering mayhem on King Smirk's Coronation Mandate Day of Glory -- but let's be real -- any "trouble" --let's be frank and honest -- what will occur will be peaceful, albeit clear, protests of loyal American citizens who will peacefully exercise their now increasingly mythological rights to free speech against bad government. King George is commanding that a photo-op of consensus and mandate occurs on his Coronation, oops, I meant Inauguration, Day.

FBI -- you KNOW we are not bad people -- that we have grievances, and not bad intentions, against the Bush adminstration. American to American, we are calling upon you to be fair and just in assessing the risk from your fellow Americans who simply dissent.

Indeed -- freedom isn't free -- and there are those of us who are planning to be present that day en masse (excuse my French) to declare our opposition to the extremist policies of this administration. Will you accept orders to hurt us, arrest us if we are not violent but simply dissenting, herd us like sheep away from public venues to deliver the media a Disneyland version of a happy happy consensual unanimous America behind a Harvard MBA chosen by God Himself, when we are in fact deeply divided? Are you okay with "Free Speech Zones" away from venues -- and if so, why?

Pardon my cynicism, but in my humble opinion, "fear" over the coronation, ops sorry again I MEANT inauguration, as expressed in the WaPo link cited above, is far more about enabling a mythical media photo-op of MandateTM than REALLY protecting His Chimperial Highness, or his Court from actual danger. Heck -- he's a guy who's too chicken to face press conferences, for heavens sakes, or even address the Parliament of our closest ally, Great Britain, or even allow people who do not sign a loyalty oath to attend his invitation-only rallies -- so the idea that he takes ANY chances to risk his pink fuzzy peach frat boy ass and stock options is laughable.... He is so cowardly he must make your job very easy....

Again, FBI -- consider this -- 500,000 STRONGLY anti-Bush people protested peacefully in NYC during the RNC. Proportionally speaking, the "troublemakers" were an extremely small percentage of this massive assembly. I think this goes to show that we are decent law-abiding Americans -- so, again, American to American, keep the peace as is your job, but let us speak as is our right (still?) as Americans.

Will you please honor your promise to protect the Constitutional rights of your fellow Americans, as well as protecting the ruling elite that day? I hope so.

1. I wouldn't dream of being anywhere in the vicinity
I'll protest in my own way. I don't care to show up in Washington to call any further attention to the coronation.

2. Hey............
We live right across the Potomac from DC, and the last inauguration, when there were so many demonstrations, and Bush's car got egged, and all that?

Not a peep of it on any local news shows.

Nothing in the Washington Post.

First we heard of it was in "Fahrenheit 9/11." We walked out wondering WTF? But then everyone around us said the same thing.

They were already at work on keeping us down long before he was sworn in.

Bastards.

9. I wondered why I hadn't heard about it until I saw it in F9/11
And the freeps think that the news has a left-wing bias? Liars. They know damn well it is totally biased against the left. They made sure of it. Billions of dollars buys a lot of corruption.

21. i agree with you. it would be wonderful if the streets were deserted and
only the slow tolling of bells, the pesence of the military brigade, and the thousands of police who will be flown in for the event line the parade/procession route.

12. Starve the Beast
They will ignore us -- MILLIONS of us -- if we merely protest.

Wolf Blitzer will NOT cover 500,000 protestors in Manhattan during RNC -- but the whore WILL cover boycott of Chri$tmas bullshit.

Not Christmas, mind you, the season of light being born in time of darkness -- but just the idiotic capitalist hijacking of it into Chri$tma$.

Open your hearts, close your wallets -- and it will be a beautiful, moral Christmas and Hannukah.

17. Only someone whose livelihood isn't retailing would be so cavalier.
So we should starve local merchants and ever other retailing family in the United States, whose incomes are generally pretty close to bad margins, so YOU can make a statement?

And what would that statement be, Grinch? You propose a completely IMMORAL Christmas.

However, supporting local and crafts merchants instead of buying foreign electronics imports would be a very moral idea. Buy American. Support our own people.

4. NOBODY go to DC.
Let it be the city of the dead it so desperately wants to be.

We should hold our memorials for democracy in every city in America.

6. This is a better idea -- don't go to D.C.
Hold protests in every town and city.

Before the war there were huge candle light vigils held around the world. Find solidarity against bush in your own voting precincts -- everyone who came out to vote AGAINST bush or FOR Kerry should come to the Memorial for Democracy held throughout America -- and the whole world!

OK. How do we organize this?

I went to a huge huge candle light vigil held in Port Townsend Washington and others were held (but NOT reported) throughout WA state and photos were posted on the Internet (MoveOn.org)

Could MoveOn.org -- organize this -- set up a site where people can sign up to go to different locations????

11. January 20, 2005
I'll be spending January 20, 2005 in Juvenile Court, representing my Clients in either Juvenile offender cases or Child in need of care cases ( abused, neglected kids etc cases).

I spent January 20, 2001 in the airports in Nevada, first in Lost Wages then in Reno on my way to a ski trip at Heavenly.

5. Signs are NOT needed to protest the smirking Chimpster
People can go to the inauguration -- if they must -- and not wear a single button or carry a banner.

WEAR BLACK -- AND WHEN THE BUSH LIMO PASSED -- TURN YOUR BACKS -- JUST TURN AROUND -- SO THAT ALL THAT CAN BE SEEN IS A SEA OF BACKS.

Now you might have to hide your black t-shirt or sweat shirt UNDER a colorful coat with a W 04 button <grin>. But before the MO FO drives past -- remove the coats and show your back to the creep.

SHUN the bastard!

There is even a website trying to organize this sort of protest.

Using this sort of powerful message will not give the SS or fbi or other trigger happy psychopaths a reason to gun down and/or jail protesters.

SHUN the bastard -- and get the world to SHUN the bastard.

http://www.turnyourbackonbush.org/

Whatever you do -- don't give the psychopathic bastards any reason to murder any more liberals and progressives.

They want to lock down the nation -- violence will play into their hands. You will have infiltrators trying to organize a violent protest -- stay away from anyone who advocates violence -- they are probably from the SS or fbi. These jerks did this during the Vietnam protests.

They understand violence -- but they don't understand Peace.

16. Even without signs, you won't get near without a ticket and an oath.
This is paranoid George, remember? A man who would have a very guilty conscience if he were capable of the normal range of emotion?
