Now that bush is "in" again (thanks to the religious right) he may actually do things that they do not like.... things that may make them abandon the repig party.
Maybe he is not as staunch a freak as they thought (hoped).

I'm not afraid of NCLB, because I do my job any way... when they haven't taken the kids away for personality testing as they have today.
He'd never get as big an anti-choice, anti-school, anti-civil rights freak as the far right want confirmed... because they may be nuts but A. Spector, chuck hagel and john warner and others like them aren't. ( I assume there are more stable personalities)

I want to drive all of the RW issues home so that:
A) People can see the underside of that rock and
B) It will divide the repubs

1. I agree with you. The Rethugs are counting on us liberals to block
the worst nonsense. Then they get to tell their fundie constituents that "we tried but those weak-willed evil pagan Jesus-hating liberals wouldn't let us pass God's plan."

Then we get blamed again, they get off free, and they get reelected as they promise to pass the nutso goals next time. Meanwhile, they're laughing into their scotch and sodas every night.

I'm sick of being their reelection enablers. They bought it, they own it. Let them either pass the most extreme things their constituents want, or answer to their constituents.

I bet they'll blink.

2. Once Hitler gained absolute power he didn't need them either!
They should have read a little modern history along with their Bible!

3. The big secret
is that Bushco doesn't give a hoot in hell about abortion, gay marriage or any of those "moral" issues. It's all economics - 0% tax rate for corporations, eliminate taxes on family fortunes, outsource, close the courthouse doors and general Malthusian economic policies to eliminate the surplus population.

4. Exactly. The rethugs just use the social issues to get out the vote
Edited on Fri Nov-12-04 09:00 AM by yardwork
In fact, most "moderate" Republicans are just as horrified as we are by most of these social initiatives. But they trotted right along to the polls and voted bushco back into office, secure in the knowledge that they will pull a fast one over the fundies again.

Let's stop enabling them. Make them face the music. Then maybe all this nonsense will stop.

5. Yep, it's all about power to the Bushes.
I've said before, if they thought they could seize and hold power by going left and indoctrinating the country with Communism, they'd do it.

7. It isn't a secret to the 49% ers
Why the fools who actually believe their crap never make the disconnection between what their leaders say to get them to the polls and what they actually do about it when in power, trips me out.
