Realization: List why watching the GOP is like watching pro wrestling:
(no offense to any wrestling fans..I'm not one)

I realized this morning why the GOP is like watching wrestling on tv:

1. Even though YOU realize the wrestlers, the personas and the entire show is fake, the audience seems rabidly convinced its real. As you watch the fans you ask yourself "Can they be this deluded? Surely on some level they understand its not real. why does that guy in the audience only have three teeth? Why does his wife have stitches in her head?"
2. Promoters create and package images for the wrestlers out of thin air, having no relationship to the actual guy, or his fighting abilities.
3. Each match is carefully choreographed to fool the audience into thinking they're actually seeing something happening in real time, when the strategists have planned it months in advance.
4. Each match is FIXED.
5. There are bizarre homoerotic/homophobic undertones happening simultaneously.
6. Violence is the answer to any question.
7. Highly exaggerated cartoon good and evil is portrayed, instead of shades of grey or subtlety. Bad guys are dressed like bad guys, even if the previous match, they wore a good guy costume. The audience is TOLD who to believe is good or bad. However, the tactics are the same, regardless.
8. An exclusive corporation is making huge money off suckers who don't even realize they're being had. Event the wrestlers themselves seem fooled by it.
9. It costs an arm an a leg to attend, which morons gleefully shell out.
10. It appeals to the basest level of human nature: lust, violence, intolerance, hatred, revenge, spite.

2. It is a good analogy
A little despairing. I mean if every match is fixed, well what's the point? It's either revolution or capitulation as the only two options.

3. I like it!
I think there's a lot of crossover in the two populations, wrestling fans and repukes, both being IQ-challenged.
