What You Should Really Fear About Fundies
Inevitably, the fundies will grow increasingly more and more frustrated in their attempts to remake America into a complete Christian nation. They'll probably make abortion illegal, but they won't stop women from going to Canada to get the procedure done. They'll have stricter FCC rules regulating content on the broadcast media, but they'll be powerless over the content on the internet and premium cable television. They'll get prayer back into schools, but it won't be a strictly Christian prayer, more like a generic moment of silence. IOW, the world is too complex, too diverse, too modern to overhaul everything that they want to do.

Thus, a new generation of fundies will emerge demanding more and more. They will get even more aggressive in their demands. They will eventually break free from their Republican corporate masters and take full control of the party. They will seek a constitutional amendment demanding that Christianity, their brand of Christianity, become America's national religion. They will seek to over-haul education in this country, demanding that it reflect their views.

IOW, the fundies will not stop until they get complete control of America and all of its institutions.

2. Fundies and Neo-Cons: The Swift Advance of a Planned Coup
It is impossible to make sense of the political ambitions of the religious right without understanding the information revealed in the articles below. It is NOT just about Christians voting their values. Most Christians, if given the complete information and time to reflect, would reject this agenda.

Mainstream and even some Fundamentalist Christians have been deceived and are being used to promote this agenda. Even true Fundamentalist Christians would not support this program if they understood it, because it is contrary to the teachings of Jesus Christ. The rise to political power of the Evangelical right is not just an unfortunate coincidence or even a spontaneous popular movement. It is a well planned, well executed power-grab with a very disturbing agenda.

This article is well documented, well researched and is critically important in understanding the religious right. It's not just about Christians voting their values.

the prevailing religion in this country is this the practice of worshiping the ALMIGHTY DOLLAR

when the fundies no longer serve to facilitate the practitioners of this religion, the money worshipers and the media will begin to paint them as the extremist they are.

10. Bingo, tk!
Nothing comes between the businessman and his dollar. Also, this country is too wild and wooly yet to let these wackos push us around.

5. What I fear about the "converted"/ fundies
is that, in their mind, if "God" says it's okay, then it is okay.

That includes when the "voice in their head" that they think is God speaking to them tells them that someone who doesn't totally agree with them is okay to kill . . .

Wayyyyyyy too many crimes against humanity have been done in God's name, whether it is Osama, Adolf, or Dumbya . . .

6. Cal Thomas wants the religious right to get their house in order.....
Thomas laments that the divorce rate among "born again" Christians is equal to those not "born again!" He wants Christians to get their house in order to gain credibility to fight the big fights like: Roe v Wade, gambling, co-habitation, homosexuality, sexual fantasies, pornography, adultery, profanity, and drunkenness.

7. Not a damn thing.
They'll begin fighting among themselves, now that they've "won." Have you ever read news reports of infighting at the Southern Baptist meetings? People whose beliefs appear identical to an outsider have enough differences to cause huge arguments.

We need to watch out & limit the damage. But I'm a Texan & refuse to be afraid.

And if corporate interests are not served, the 'movement' will find itself suddenly strapped for cash.

The fundies job is to provide a smokescreen to get major portions of the electorate to vote agaisnt their interest. That means that they can only go after small minorities like gays and lesbians. The start goring oxen that represent larger portions of the electorate, then they start losing votes. Then the corpartist pull the plug.

The religious right is about to get a hard lesson that they are NOT the moral heart of the country, but can only be effective when used against the generic threat of the 'other', that is a function of our collecive psyche.

The Puritans learned this lesson well when England rebelled against Cromwell

13. the basic paradigm here
is that these fundies are incabable of respecting different opinions.

your side isnt something to be worked with, it's something to be assimilated or destroyed

you arent someone to be worked with, you're someone to be assimilated or destroyed.

this is what you should really fear from fundies
