DU Form for Disabled Support and Activism?

I did a post with this and another DU forum, but it sank like a stone, so I thought I'd try them separately and see if I at least got a response.

I feel the need. So much of my life is affected by my disability (Asperger's syndrome).

I once put up a "Disability Underground", but even in the Meeting Room, it only stayed up for a few days :(

Oh yes, you are not the only DUer with Asperger's and/or autism, and I can prove it :-)

There must be lots of disabled folks here, and not just ASDs.

And there's much work to be done; Republicans tend to think we're whining or goldbricking or some other such thing. They don't get how hard it is to function in a society that is assumes you can do things you can't!

I am especially interested in the connection between the environment and health - especially brain injuries. Do you this a disability forum would include such discussions?

6. It seems off topic to me, but . . .

I wasn't thinking of it that way; more of a dealing with disability and advocating for the rights of those that have them rather than preventing. Sort of "I'm in the US, I'm disabled, now what?" Prevention seems to belong more in an environmental or health thread to me.

But I'm just one possible participant. If folks think it belongs here rather than there, that's OK with me.
