Don't really care: But the Scott Peterson verdict guaranteed overturned
The reason the two jurors were kicked off was that they would not agree to a guilty verdict. That's an automatic mistrial. If the judge doesn't grant one, the appelate court will. YOu can't kick off jurors in a CRIMINAL TRIAL for that reason.

The truth is that the jurors convicted him of being a "BAD HUSBAND." The prosecution clearly did not even come close to meeting its burden. He may be the murderer but the conviction will never hold and, on retrial, he'll be acquitted unless the prosecution gets some EVIDENCE. One of the kicked-off jurors has apparently already talked about the reason taht juror was kicked off and the defense will certainly be using a statement from that juror in its motion for a new trial and appeal.

So the state gets to spend a lot more money and Peterson will eventually be acquitted. Wonder if he makes bail, pending the appeal.

2. I don't think he will make bail
...I had read somewhere that his parents were completely tapped out by hiring Geragos. Can't remember where, though.

3. What a shame all this legal maneuvering takes away from the fact
that a wife and child were brutally murdered.

12. by someone, but they haven't proven beyond a reasonable doubt

that it was Peterson. The wrong man being convicted is just as bad because justice isn't being served, only emotionally righteous indignation.

8. Sure it was fixed.
They were systemically removed and replaced until the judge got the verdict he wanted.

Wonder if he was a CON-servative?

5. One juror explained
The woman was supposedly dismissed for doing outside research. The foreman was never explained.

7. The reason given for the foreman was
that he was exhausted. Personally, I think they were kicked off because they did not want to charge him guilty, that shadow of a doubt thing. It didn't help Scott acting the way he did when she went missing, but I didn't see any instance where anything was proven. I know plenty of people are happy about the verdict.

9. "shadow of a doubt" is NOT the standard, it's REASONABLE DOUBT
Very big difference between the two standards. If we had to convict beyond a shadow of a doubt, nobody would ever be convicted.

6. You don't know why the jurors were kicked out.
I presume the judge had to have reasons, and not that they didn't agree to a guilty verdict.:eyes:

10. the first thing the lawyers and judges tell you is
to not let emotion rule your judgement...

but this case is nothing but emotion, and emotion is what convincted that man because the prosecution didn't meet its burden of proof.
