Political Astrology Group Proposal
I would like to propose what I would like to see in a serious political astrology group forum:

Attention to political and current events, using the (Vedic and Western) charts of the United States, states, countries, political figures, and other relevant entities and happenings in the news, history, and possible future. Perhaps a separate forum could be set up to discuss personal and/or celebrity astrology, if there is a desire, although I believe there are many other places on the internets for that. I wouldn't be adverse to participating in anything astrological, but I see a once in a lifetime opportunity for some fine-tune honing of political forecasting and depth by focusing on it exclusively in this proposed DU group forum.

All levels of skill and/or interest should be welcome, as long as there is sincere interest in the topic, so please don't be put off thinking it is only for pros.

Just so you know my take, here are a few of my thoughts and observations about what is going on:

A)Eclipse of the Presidency--2004
Most astrologers predicted that Kerry would win, but IMHO, few astrologers use the correct time for the US chart, so missed the fact that there was a Solar Eclipse just before the election directly on the house of the presidency (22Libra). This clearly could have meant one of two things: 1.that the current president was "eclipsed", i.e. voted out of office; or 2. that the executive office itself was absconded with.

B)1998: The Moon and Manipulating the Mass Mind
Since 1998 we have been in the period of the Moon and will be until 2008. The moon has to do with the media and the public consciousness. The public began to be more aggressively manipulated and the sights were set on the presidency, via attacks on Clinton, etc., at the beginning of this period. This action and intention has come to a crescendo with putting the AntiPrez in office. He was born to rob, deceive and scare us: no good can come from him except to wake us up and make us take responsbility. His Saturn is in a fatal fear producing aspect to the American people.

C)Saturn: Fear, Loathing and Jail? for the AntiPrez
This election coincided with his Saturn return, meaning that his cycle of influence is ending, and that prison is a possibility (12th house). This current position of Saturn between now and next summer makes it possible for the public to see more clearly than before, including the fallacy of projections accepted as truth (Rovian spinning exposed).

D)Kerry: Bouyant Spirit of Unification, Warrior, and Worthy Adversary
Current Jupiter is moving through the sky trining his lawyerly attention to detail and to the truth (Mars w/ Vesta in the sixth house). Pluto moving over his Sun and through his first house has greatly transformed him through this campaign; Pluto opposing his Saturn in the house of enemies makes him capable of defeating the stranglehold. He is capable of fighting now in a way he never was before. The negative projections thrown on him are likely to be removed as Saturn makes its transit by next summer and the full impact of the truth comes out.

I could go on and on, but I hope that is enough to give you an idea if you might be interested in participating in such a discussion.

Astrology is a wonderful tool, but is not infallible. Especially when its power is so stunning, as I believe it is now in the face of these recent national events, it is easy for people to get carried away and think we know more than we do. Astrology always must fail, like any predictive system. Call it the uncertainty principle. But it is an exceedingly valuable tool. I think it needs many minds to unravel such complex scenarios as in these times.

If you are interested, please reply to this thread. We have to have at least 10 to start an official DU Group. Thanks O.P.

1. What, pray tell, is wrong with the Meeting Room?
I mean, go ahead and start your own group or whatever if you want to, but the Meeting Room has served us very well, IMO.

2. Yes, we need such a forum.

I read the astrology threads and find them endlessly interesting. It might also be possible to get the anti-astrology folks to put any astrology forum on their ignore list, rather than posting disruptive comments as sometimes happens.

added on edit:
The problem with simply using the Meeting Room, is that a lot of other stuff goes on there. I think there's enough interest in astrology to warrant a separate forum.

4. Yes, good idea
I would frequent such a forum, and I do like the idea of having it separate from The Meeting Room.

7. there is an ongoing discussion
at Salon's Table Talk message board. The thread is called "Kenny, you Lunatic" (long story why that is) and is in the White House folder. Very high level discussions, which I can barely follow (and I'm the Astrology expert in my circles!).
