Trolls plentiful!
Today it seems like there have been a lot of trolls on DU. Why is that do you think? Are they afraid with this recount stuff or are they gloating about the election? I think that they think they were proven right by the election and need to let us know. I think a few were caught up in the election of their Furor and now regret their choice and need to come here to read and convince themselves they were right. I say let them stay a while and get enlightened if they are not disrupting too much. They may learn the truth if they stay.

3. It's not the disagreement
It's the quality of the disagreement.

6. Speak of the devil.
Notice how they all come out of the wood work when there's war crimes to apologize for.

2. They seem to be here on a "It wasn't a War Crime" mission...
If that's true, they won't stay after that news cycle.

5. I have wondered the same thing
It is not just that the level of discourse seems to have dropped, but that hostility is at an all time high! I know people are very frustrated, I sure am! But, I have been involved in a few discussions and it seems that people responding are delighting in misstating things or twisting them. Then, when it is pointed out, they say "I don't want to argue!" WTF?! I have noticed it is not just "newbies" either! I really like the DU, but lately, it has been stressful. I like the things I can learn here and I don't mind disagreeing with someone or them with me, but it has reached a new low in reading comprehension in the threads. :(
