More religion...this time pagans and witches!
First, thank you to all the people who helped get the group up for submission! Second, thanks to Skinner for giving us the room!

The new room is the Ancient Wisdom and Pagan Spirituality Group and we welcome all people to discuss issues around paganism, witchcraft, etc. So all you crazy pagans and witches...check in there!!!

Also, this is a DU member group, so now is the time to get that STAR!!! :)

Brightest Blessings!

2. My star is coming, count me in.
Awesome group. Did you know that wicca/earth religions are the fastest growing religion in U.S.? Actually, Islam is growing too, but I read a book recently full of statistics about which groups were growing at fastest rates and earth religions were #1. They grouped all pagan, earth, wiccan groups under that heading.

Cool!

5. just had a funny thought
are there radical hardcore extremist fundamentalist wiccans? I guess it's "oxymoranic", no? Extra strength potions only.

6. that is funny
I am sure there are some extremist in the pagan world, I don't see how we could escape that scourge. I just hope they don't ruin it for the rest of us! :)

Funny thought though! :)

Brightest Blessings!

8. Hello pagans, agnostics, atheists, deists, animists and all
Edited on Tue Nov-16-04 05:43 PM by donkeyotay
I want to share a book I just read. It's new, and it's called "God against the gods: the history of the war between monotheism and polytheism" by Jonathan Kirsch. It's well worth reading because a) it's extremely well-written and entertaining and b) it makes a good argument for what paganism really is and what paganism's contribution to society was and could be. It's a good counter balance to the current rage for dominance by Christianity.

9. Thanks for the book recommendation
Perhaps if we get enough people to read it, we can discuss it here!
