What is the difference between Harry Reid and a RETHUG??
Why don't we just give the entire Senate to them, lets not pretend we have a voice.

Reid has a 29% voring record with NARAL
40% voting record with ACLU.........
There goes ROE and we will have Patriots 12 by the end of another 4 years

Dean has a chance at the DNC seat like I will be the next POTUS

1. Harry Reid
stood up and spoke for 9 hours last November in an attempt to thwart Bush's judicial nominees.

7. IF he is a democrat -- then I just got booted OUT of the democratic
party today. And I wrote a very nasty email to my female Senator and told her exactly what I though about the choice of Reid the GOP light senator.

Today I officially terminate my Democratic membership and become an Independent. The democratic party has just moved FAR right.

11. ok...
ciao

Reid is not a right-winger, and basing your decision on two factoids listed above is sorta silly, imo.

6. He helped Daschle block the Estrada nomination
but other than that he's a typical Blue Dog Democrat, ie, a pubbie in everything but which party he claims.

If he's put at the head of the party, that party can forget my vote. I'll vote Green or write in the Socialist.

They've stupidly been allowing themselves to be pushed to the right for years, and the farther right they go, the more elections they lose.

Insanity is described as doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome.

9. Well
what voting record are you going by?

He voted YES on stem cell research
He voted YES on federally funded affirmative action
He voted YES on adding sexual orientation to ENDA
He voted YES on hate crime legislation (including sexual orientation)He voted NO on required school prayer
He voted NO on funding silly abstinence programs
He voted YES on background checks for sales at gun shows
He voted NO on limiting lawsuits against gun manufacturers
He voted NO on Bush's tax cuts
He voted YES on the comprehensive test ban
He voted NO on drilling in ANWR

Here are some other stats:

Rated 91% by the NEA
Rated 16% by the Christian Coalition
Rated 88% by APHA, on issues of public health
Rated 100% by SANE, indicating a solid pro-peace record

You can't look at two factoids in the original post and conclude he's not a Democrat.

8. These maybe some
Voted YES on adding sexual orientation to definition of hate crimes. (Jun 2002)
Voted NO on increasing penalties for drug offenses. (Nov 1999)
Voted NO on spending international development funds on drug control. (Jul 1996)
Voted YES on $40 billion per year for limited Medicare prescription drug benefit. (Jun 2003)
Voted YES on allowing importation of Rx drugs from Canada. (Jul 2002)
Voted YES on allowing patients to sue HMOs & collect punitive damages. (Jun 2001)

I'm not in love with the idea either but I've heard that he knows the votes in the Senate. And will be a good strategist for the Dems.

10. Jeez. He just said
" should be confirmed fairly easily."

Wow, Harry. Way to start your term off with a bang. Stand up and assent. A-mazing. She has a four-year record of failure, and you're not even going to fight her.
