Blue state freepers.

Yes, we've been coming down hard on the "rednecks" from the south, but just read this LTTE (printed in my hometown paper, the "Bureau County Republican" bcrnews.com). A good illustration that it's not really a North/South divide, but an urban/rural thing. (BTW, I think this guy actually might be a relative of mine  )

-----------

I would like to quote a few lines from Mr. Foxvog's letter to the editor.

I quote, "The prison abuse brings great dishonor on our country."

Does he mean our stripping of prisoners, piling them on top of each other, laughing at them, and putting women's panties on their heads? That is abuse? How about if we cut their heads off!

I quote, "Now we are besieging Fallujah, where there are an estimated 50,000 civilians remaining." Yes, there are, and they were warned. In fact, our press told the whole world that we were going into Fallujah five days beforehand. And the civilians that remained were given another chance. We told them to stay inside, and we would not harm them. Come outside, and you're dead! Sounds pretty clear!

I quote, "Leaving Iraq would bring less dishonor than to continue the atrocities." Unbelievable! Our killing these cowardly insurgents are "atrocities?" And to leave Iraq? That's just what the terrorists want.

We were forced to leave Vietnam by the same kind of pressure, brought on by know nothing people and by the press. How come millions of Vietnamese followed us home? Tens of thousands of them drowned, trying to make it to the USA.

As long as it takes, we got to show these outlaws that they can't prevail. We can't let any of our troops die in vain again!

They exist. I don't like them but there's no sense in ignoring that they exist. I've seen way too many B/C stickers for comfort. Every state has them. Obviously some more than others but you will always find them no matter where you live.

5. Hoo boy.
Well, if he's who I think he is (which is my grandmother's brother), I've maybe met him once or twice. But I'm not sure. My grammas 8 or so brothers all fought in some war or another (WWII, Korea), and I don't think they'd really be up for a conversion at this stage or their lives...

7. Listen to cspan WJ when this is the subject! Lots of people think
the same way that guy does. I also read several ltte's in our local paper with the same theme. Most of the comments seem to come from veterans who remember WWII and 'Nam, and relate much worse stories of things that an enemy did to American soldiers.

I'm definately a long time Dem, and what was done at Ab Graeb was WRONG! However, I can understant the most recent news item where the soldier is being called a murderer for shooting the wounded insurgent in the Mosque. I've never been to war, but I have experienced the emotion that happens when someone threatens the life of a friend or loved one. (A close friend is a cop, and some thieves shot at him while trying to rob a motel.) I wanted to kill them myself! What must it be like when you see your close friends wounded & killed every day, usually by ambush or mines on the side of the road? I don't think I'd be taking any chances with the enemy either!
