How about an NPR Listeners Group?
I think it would be interesting to have a discussion group that talked about NPR's reporting. I think it would be less mind-numbing than, say, discussing CNN, and I think it would be relatively interesting.

I basically get 90% of my non-internet news from NPR, but half the time I hear a story I have a complaint. I can't take up all my time writing letters to the Ombudsman, but it would be nice to have a forum in which I can write a paragraph or two and then get in a discussion with other listeners.

I imagine it would be people having a dialogue about crappy reporting in real time (ie, just after hearing something dumb on NPR).

What do people think?

2. Since an AAR affiliate luanched in Atlanta
I find myself listening to the NPR morning and afternoon news shows less and less. I think my decline actually started with the canning of Bob Edwards.

5. I'm there!
Sometimes NPR sounds like an organ of the American Enterprise Institute.

I HATE Neal Conan! HATE HIM!

6. Good idea. I am an NPR addict.
I can't get AAR, don't have cable or Satellite TV, so I have to get my news from NPR and the Internet.

7. Where are all the NPR bashers?
Actually, IMHO, NPR is this country's best national news source. Where else do you get the wide range of in depth repoting? Of course NPR isn't as biased our way as AAR. On the other hand AAR doesn't have people on the ground overseas. While not perfect, NPR sure as hell beats out the other big news outlets such as FOX, CNN, etc. And, BTW, who really enjoys listening to all those adds on commercial radio?

10. And you'd be entitled to make those arguments when we talk about specific
news stories.
