Buy your Christmas gifts this year online from overseas companies!!

DON'T support the US economy this Christmas if you can avoid it. Starve the beast dead and hurt these damn Republicans in the only place they still have feeling...in their bank accounts! I have been ordering all my Christmas gifts from UK, Australian, and Canadian companies this year. I even ordered my Christmas decorations from Canada!! If you can't move to Canada at least help their economy! I know everyone reading this has a computer or access to one. There is no excuse. You do NOT need to go to Wal-Mart for Christmas! In fact, you'll actually SAVE money buying from overseas companies!

I am supporting products that are American Union made and not sold in the large Walmart type stores. I want to do all I can to ensure that American workers have jobs.

If it's not made in the USA, I will not buy it.

When was the last time you bought a "Made in USA" piece of clothing apparel?

And I'll bet that there is more than one of the foreign companies you've patronized that has US connections.

Why don't you do your local, small business retailers a favor and buy from them?

I made a note around election time of all the Resteraunts and buisnesses in my town that had Kerry/Edwards signs in their windows. I have been going back to those places since. And there are plenty of Canadian-owned companies with NO US connections to shop from...you just have to talk to Canadians about it! Believe it or not, there are still companies with no US ties!

I believe in buying american as much as possible.. in other words, I don't shop at Wal-Mart.

If we don't support american made companies who produce american made products, then we are simply encouraging the cheap-labor-republican-owned businesses to go overseas and engage in even more human rights violations in their sweatshops.

We need to direct our money towards businesses we can support, instead of withdrawing all our dollars from the economy.

If the point is to target and injure the Republican/corporate economic interests, then spend your money at local businesses owned by Democrats or Progressives.

Otherwise, the damage you're doing is to the community you live in.

You can also just not spend any money at all. Even that is better than giving it all to foreign interests that may be aligned with American corporate interests anyhow.

I'm new here at DU, but have some things I've been doing for several years.

Well, at least since 9/11, when I figured out real quick the airlines would come after their employees and declare they were going bankrupt! You know only in America does it cost more to go to a dinner and a movie than fly across the country, go figure!

Enough of my digression- here goes! FORGIVE MY TYPING IN CAPS!

1. LOOK AT THE LABEL, IF IT'S MADE IN CHINA DON'T BUY IT- WE NEED JOBS HERE and Walmart is the 13th largest country (oh I forgot, they're not a country!) doing business with China- Funny, I seem to remember years ago those "made in America signs in Walmart"!

2. BUY IT USED- THAT'S RIGHT- FROM ANOTHER AMERICAN, I SHOP THE SMALL BUSINESSES OR INDIVIDUALS ON EBAY. WHY? BECAUSE THE MONEY GOES DIRECTLY TO AN INDIVIDUAL OR SUPPORTS A SMALL BUSINESS and DOESN'T GET FUNNELED THROUGH A BIG CORPORATION THAT'S OUTSOURCED AND PAYING MILLION DOLLAR SALARIES AND STOCK OPTIONS TO MANAGEMENT.

3. WRITE A LETTER to any companies that are cutting benefits OR DO NOT PROVIDE GENEROUS HEALTH BENEFITS AND RETIREMENT TO THEIR AMERICAN EMPLOYEES and tell them WHY YOU WILL NOT SPEND A DIME WITH THEM. REMEMBER- IF OTHERS ARE NOT PAID FAIRLY, IT'S NOT LONG TILL IT'S COMING YOUR WAY! IF THEIR COMPANY DUMPS THEIR RETIREMENT, YOUR COMPANY WILL TOO.

REMEMBER, MOST CEO'S DON'T SURROUND THEMSELVES WITH BRILLIANT PEOPLE, ONLY YES PEOPLE. THESE TYPES DON'T BELIEVE IN WIN-WIN, ONLY "WE WIN" "YOU LOSE" AND AS LONG AS MY "SERP" (SENIOR EXECUTIVE RETIREMENT PLAN) IS SAFE AFTER I BANKRUPT THIS BABY, I DON'T GIVE A SHIT!

4. ONLY SHOP AT NON-CHAIN STORES!


5. IF THERE ARE ANY DU'ERS OUT THERE INTERESTED IN STARTING UP A DEM BOYCOTT SITE THAT WOULD MAKE IT EASY FOR PEOPLE TO CHECK UP ON THE ETHICS, POLITICS, ETC OF COMPANIES THEY DO BUSINESS WITH AND YOU HAVE THE PROGRAMMING, MARKETING, LEGAL SKILLS TO HELP, CONTACT ME WITH A PRIVATE MESSAGE.

THE FASTEST WAY TO CHANGE OUR COUNTRY IS TO DO IT IN AN ORGANIZED MONETARY FASHION.
