Interesting perspective on "Housewives" skit
I don't particularly care about the skit, but there have been a lot of posts on the idea that White America was freaked out by the inter-racial aspect of the scene. I didn't really think that was the issue.

Now here is Colts Head Coach Tony Dungy - who I should point out is black - stating that the ad/skit was racially insensitive because it featured the stereoptypical "black man's sexual prowess" theme.

"I thought it was very much . I thought it hit at a lot of stereotypes towards athletes, black athletes in particular. I thought it was very insensitive on the heels of the Kobe Bryant situation."

I didn't think of it in this way until he pointed it out.

1. If You're A Liberal, You're Color-Blind...
...because up until Dungy pointed out, I didn't think about that either!
But when he mentioned it, I suddenly realized it too.
But fact of the matter is, the complaints are about interracial bigotry, because the ones that protested it, apparently has NO problem watching scantily clad BLOND WHITE cheerleaders with boobs in tiny shirts, and butts in tiny shorts bouncing up and down, and it's apparently okay for their kids to watch.
It's frightening to know, that racism and bigotry is still so alive and well in white man's America...

2. I'm less convinced...

... I can't help but suspect that if it had been a white player, the brouhaha would have been 90% less.

The problem is that just because some of us do not have racist attitudes we forget that racism is alive and well and it always will be.

I suspect many of the cluckers were more shocked at a white woman throwing herself at a black man than anything else.

3. There are penis enhancing commercials all over the TV
Ads about increasing the size of the penis or making it work properly...but this ad upset people????

I personally think it was the racial aspect of the ad...an attractive atheletic black man with a blond white woman...I bet it really pissed off the freaks who still yearn for slavery...

....however having Halle Berry get it on with Billy Bob ...that wouldn't bother them...
