Reporter convicted of contempt
Journalist refused to reveal source of FBI videotape
PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island (AP) -- A Providence, Rhode Island, television reporter was convicted of criminal contempt Thursday for refusing to say who gave him an FBI videotape showing a city official taking a bribe.

Jim Taricani, of WJAR, is scheduled to be sentenced by U.S. District Judge Ernest Torres on December 9. The undercover tape was aired prominently and repeatedly by the station.

Taricani faces up to six months in prison.

This is the tactics they are using to scare the media to fall in line.

He had a heart transplant 8 years ago so hopefully Judge Torres will go easy on the sentencing. We're hoping for home confinement. It stinks.

Meanwhile that putz Novak can commit treason with complete impunity.

Ughhhhh !!!

3. The attacks on the 1st amendment continue.
When are people going to wake up and see that their rights are being systematically taken away?

8. I heard he was getting a $1000 a day fine at one point.
They're coming down hard on him. It's disturbing that things like this can go on with little notice.
