Kerry's Petition...DID YOU SIGN IT YET?!!

I finally got his letter and video address. It is so great to hear from him. He sounds really strong and determined. He needs us to sign his petition (actually to co-sponsor the bill) for Childrens Healthcare. He is going to take it to the Senate floor...the more signatures...THE BIGGER IMPACT! and i am very proud of kerry to take this stand, it looks like he is going to fight on and use his national name and recognition to fight the good fight and take this admin to task...while we stand up for our OWN values.

He said that if he was blocked from keeping his campaign promises, he would go directly to the American people and use the bully pulpit to get congress to do what the people say they want. Well he wasnt elected, but he is starting to keep his campaign promises by going directly to the 55 million people who voted for him.

It's a take off on the Vietnamese appelation for Ho Chi Minh, Uncle Ho. Since I feel myself to be twice as revolutionary as Uncle Ho, I just doubled up on the Ho's

Some people have accused me of using the Kerry campaigns pet name for Howard Dean which was Ho Ho. Farthest thing from my mind at the time.

This is an interesting concept and strategy while were are unrepresented - at least we can remind them there are millions of people in this country who don't like the repub agenda. I'm happy Kerry is doing this.

I don't have children, but every child needs healthcare so I was glad to do it.

I was so happy to find this in my email. My biggest fear from Nov 3 until now is that the massive grassroots organization that was formed for the election would dissipate at the time when it is most needed - to oppose a second Bush term.

Kerry clearly addressed this concern: "Here is what I want you to know. I understand the strength, commitment, and passion that are at the core of what we built together -- and I am determined to make our collective energy and organization a force to be reckoned with in the weeks and months ahead."

I am glad to hear from Kerry now but I do wish he had spoken sooner. Two weeks seemed like an eternity, and I suspect many people either gave up in despair or were overcome with hostile feelings. I didn't believe it, but it sure felt like he had abandoned us. Well, I'm glad he has spoken now, and I do like the way he choose to do it.

I signed the petition. I am waiting for the media to pick up on this. Will they even report it? If they do, will they try to marginalize and dismiss it? I guess we'll find out.

Saw this at Daily Kos. Yep, Kerry's idea is a win/win, "no matter which way it turns out" heh heh heh...

poison free communites can help to detach conservatives that care about the environment...and who can be against poison free communites without looking like a corp slimeball?

foreign fuel independence...the name says it all, economic-energy patriotism...that will create good high-paying jobs, get us out of the freaking middle east and away from the saudi royal family, protect the environment...tie rural communities back into the democratic fold with the hope that corn and other crops can contribute to the future of energy

I practically didn't care what I was signing! And I did what I never do...I sent it on to several of my friends. I explained that even if this bill is not to your liking and even if it will not pass: This is essential to send a message to the current President that our children suffer under you Mr. President....they suffer.

Beyond all of this I hope I can smile when Kerry stands up before the Senate and says, "My co-sponsors are one million American citizens." This act breaks through my perceptions of the dirty congress...so just because of this I will support it.
