Be the media!

(1) Print out DU top nominations (and other "best of the web" posts) in a weekly - then a daily - newspaper.

Distribute for free:
- at bus stops
- in laundromats
- in cafeterias
- at workplaces
- on campuses
- in subway stations
- to friends
- via mail...

(2) Set up websites where people can UPLOAD audio files where they read out the "best of the web articles". Burn these to CDs and make cassette tapes - and distribute for free as above.

(3) Set up additional websites where these "best of the web" articles can be translated (and read out loud and recorded) into major languages around the world. Go around the media and let the French and the Chinese see that The American People aren't swallowing this crap.

Remember how international capital outstrips international labor so easily these days. Here we have the internet, an international medium. Let's put it to use.

If the assholes in the media think they're the "Kool Kids" - they ain't seen nothin' yet. An underground worldwide newspaper/CD movement would be hotter than anything on Premium Cable. People are sick of hearing things written by committees - they need a human voice. And they don't need a "litany" or "laundry list" - they need a "narrative" - like talk radio gives them.

The Russians used to mimeograph (or hand-type multiple carbon copies) and circulate important news underground that Pravda and Isvestia wouldn't print.

The time has come to do this in America.
