There are more power stuctures in America than just the government.
And I think it's important that Democrats spend time on ALL of these structures rather than focusing everything on just the government and then expecting the other power structures to change while being controled by Repugs.

Big media. It was a huge mistake to allow such conglomeration of power that has created a situation where only a handfull of corporations and therefore only a very few number of people have near total control over everything America sees on our television and hears on our radio. Newspapers are mostly owned by Repugs, but there seem to be quite a few owners out there, but the folks we need to reach are mostly folks who never read a newspaper.

Small buisness. Democrats will probably never have friends among big buisness, but Democrats must grow our friendships among small and medium buisnesses while they still have the power that they currently have before more and more of them fall to the few big buisnesses that seem to favor no nation.

Churches. Democrats *must* make better inroads into churches. Folks meet there. Folks get to know other folks in church. Folks learn public speaking skills in church. Folks get support and friendship and help through others that they meet within their church. Jesus Christ is the embodyment of liberalism. He is the original liberal and was crucified because his government saw Him as a threat to their power and the church saw Him as a threat to their power. Don't ever forget that all the major religions in the world are essentially liberal religions that teach peace and helping the poor and needy. Folks have forgotten that. Folks have lost their way and have gone off on tangents of trying to force people to within their nation to pretend to be moral and hate against one other, of hate against other religions, of hate against gays, of hate against ethnicities. We must help them let go of their hate and relearn the true teachings of their Bible.

The NRA. They are powerful. And, imho, they are often right, on this subject. Therefore, we need some Democrats in leadership positions within the NRA. NOT Zell. We also need more Democrats to open up relations with the NRA and communicate with them. We need rural folks to trust Democrats will *never* take their guns away. And the only way that will happen is if Democrats take the initiative to assure them in every way possible. Too many elections have been lost over this. It's time that this stops, here and now. This power center should be nullified by sharing it with Repugs.

The military. It is my understanding that our military is bombarded with right-wing propaganda through the government sponsored Armed Forces Radio (Rush Limbagh, of all people is prominant there). And through Rupert Murdoch's FOX News. We need to fight to get more opinions to our soliders. This is very dangerous that they are feed this BS with nothing from our side. VERY dangerous. Ovens, concentration camps, firing squads, torture chambers for our own citizens dangerous. Our military is also the face of America that folks in other countries see. And there is no way that folks in other countries like to see them spewing what Rush Limbaugh and FOX News fed them recently. We need to fight for some balance on within the barracks. Anything to lessen the effect, the hate, that FOX News and Rush Limbaugh instill in them against their fellow Americans.

what our messages are if we can't get them heard repeatedly to the
mainstream public. I agree, the "conglomeration of power" these
organizations have over the publics opinions and actions... it's just scary as hell. They have every channel and most all cable channels too.
