Hilarious/sad/scary/depressing emails sent to CBS News' Dick Meyers
Most of the people responding to Dick Meyer's columns seem to be Fox News viewers. I'm especially amused by the so-called Democrats who seem to want the party to become more conservative (LOL).

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2003/11/20/opinion/meyer/main584753.shtml

"I disagree with you concerning the "Moral Values" vote. That is EXACTLY why I voted for Bush! After the entire Clinton-Lewinsky debacle, I want a president who looks and acts presidential! I'm also THRILLED that I have a president who says he starts each day with prayer and reflection. No, I do not believe that Bush is God's "chosen man" -- God is much, much, much greater than the whole Democrat/Republican/Independent system. But I'm thrilled to have a president who seeks God's wisdom, loves his wife, takes a stand on moral issues and has a spine of steel."

...

"As a registered PA Democrat who has voted Democrat most of his life, I can say I would really love to see a strong Democratic party. But in the past few years, I have seen such a militant level of pro-homosexual, pro-abortion behavior from so many Democrats that it really turned me off to voting for Mr. Kerry (and other Democrats in general). I mean, the guy voted against the partial birth abortion ban, for crying out loud. Even a time-worn Democrat like me can't abide with that."

...

"You talk about a humble President and coming together in Unity. Yet this country was divided partly because of all the negative news you were putting out. 70 percent of the news about Bush in the last month leading to the election was negative, yet 70 percent of the news about Kerry was positive. You also try to downplay Bush with him not winning the popular vote his first term. Nothing was ever said when Clinton never won the popular vote...oh yeah he's a Democrat maybe that's why.

Unity? You want a Republican to do that when in office but when has a Democrat every come to the other side? Zell Miller...but you shunned him from the party he so loves."

1. They're all unabashed liars and deceivers...
Or perhaps they're all Rove.

2. Shows how successful Rove has been in dummying down the general public.
Of course he had help with the networks and all forms of media. Toss that with the life long average american's fantasy that our country can do no wrong and we get Bush. I am ashamed of our arrogance and ignorance. Well 49 pct of us tried. Probably more, but good luck proving that.

7. Truth isn't important to them. They know that few people take the time
to stay informed. Fox news has been very handy. As the old saying goes you can fool some of the people some of the time, but not all of the people all of the time. They have figured out you can fool enough of the people most of the time.

5. How are we ever going to take our country back from these idiots?

I agree that the media, led by Fox News, just loves fostering the dumbing down of America. It makes me feel sick that so many people are so misinformed and arrogant.

10. I guess let them Chimp and the PNACers run their course. I guess when
these asshats start losing their jobs, sending their children to fight their PNAC wars and become starving in the streets, just maybe, maybe they'll wake the f**k up!!!

11. No wonder he didn't address Parliament!
His spine of steel probably set off the metal detectors! Ha -- and to think I thought he pulled out of addressing the governing body of our closest ally because he was terrified someone in that democratic country might dare to speak up to him!

Funny that a spine of steel demands loyalty oaths from people who attend his rallies, etc.

Brazen, yes. Steel -- what a joke.

12. Yeah, sure. Don't you know sitting in a classroom for seven minutes
after the nation that you are running has been attacked and you sit there like a deer in headlights! That makes you have a spine of steel! </sarcasm>

6. 70%... now where have I heard that before?
Oh right- 70% of Al Qaeda has been destroyed, and 70% of Iraq is peaceful.

They like 70% for some reason.

9. The funniest thing about that is that Rice put a nice high percentage
Edited on Sat Nov-20-04 02:00 AM by kikiek
of al queda leaders being caught or killed. But when asked how many existed she said 10's to 100's they didn't know. How stupid are we? If you can't even give a ballpark number how can you say any percentage has been killed? No MSM picked that up. Just Franken as far as I heard.

13. I like the HEAVY BOLD Clinton never won the popular vote.
Typical freeper. He got the popular vote, both times. Clinton never won with 51%. Well, discount the * vapor votes, and disenfranchised Dems, neither has *.
