interesting article on Christianity from a non-fundamentalist perspectiveProgressive Christianity in 200 YearsOutside the BoxAugust 13, 2004
http://outsidethebox.blogs.com/home/2004/08/progressive_chr.html(snip)So different are these two views of Christianity that they almost produce two different religions, both using the same Bible and language. Our time of two paradigms is virtually a tale of two Christianities.
(snip)As the emerging paradigm in Christianity is defined, however, I am curious to see where it is heading. I sometimes wonder if modern Progressive Christians will be looked back on 200 years from now and seen as the pioneers of a new way of being Christian, or if we'll be seen as an entirely new way of being spiritual. A way of being spiritual that uses much of the same langauge and metaphor that traditional Christianity uses, but has evolved into something new.
