I love My Country
But my stomach turns with disgust at what this president has done to it and US. I feel helpless in all but the fact that we will begin to turn things around in 2006.But thats a long time to wait and thinking of how many will be killed ( theirs and our) before he can be stop. I feel sick at what is being done in my name and at times overwhelmed at the helplessness I feel. The thought that God is in charge is the one thing that keeps me sane. Does anyone else ever feel this way? Thanks for being there DU.:scared:

2. I can't profess love for nation-states...
...however, I feel no pride whatsoever in the nation-state that I assumed (for so long) was a force of good in the world.

What frightens me the most is the level of nationalism being shown nowadays (Flags and "God Bless America" magnetic ribbons on almost every car I see). There was another country that displayed nationalism to this degree - that was Germany in 1933-1945. :scared:

5. all the time. but why wait for 2006?
Folks, it is a really big mistake to let Shrub get away with this again. We really can't survive 4 more years of Bush&Company, and this time, with no re-election to worry about, we will see Shrub Unleashed! Call the media regularly, write the newspapers, demand a recount in your state, demand an investigation of this election fraud, and call your congressmen and senators and demand they challenge the electors. On inauguration day please let us gather all across America in our own towns, at public places, all at the same time, and carry signs congratulating President Kerry, and noting that "Inaugurations do not a president make, votes make a president, and Diebold can't count." Or just, "Diebold can't count, Congratulations President Kerry. Let us recognize our real president this time, en masse, all in our own towns, all across the nation. Even if they force this on us, we don't have to act like we believe it for a moment. There will soon be a draft for BOTH men and women up to age 34, the plans for this were spelled out to the pentagon on Feb 11, 2003, and they are only waiting until after The Son of a Bush is safely installed. Tell your children not to go. Some of them will feel it is their duty if called, but argue the point with them, explain the Commander In Thief is an evil war profiteer, in fact a war criminal, who would order to do immoral things, like torture prisoners. It is not their duty to serve such a master. Get them faked ID's, hide them in the attic, or get them out of the country but don't let them go into the military. At least they will still be alive, and not have the blood of innocents on their hands. If your children were thinking about ROTC for college, for god's sake, don't let them do it. Even if they delay college, at least they will be better off. Do not allow your children to respond to this draft. If you are age 34 or less, I beg you not to go off to fight Shrub's illegal, immoral oil wars. Tell your children we will know when we have a serious war that really needs fighting when we see The Drunken Bush Twins getting shipped out with the marines. Then, if The Drunken Bush Twins go, we should know its time to send our kids too. Until then, Don't give up. Don't be afraid. People have been changing the world all through history, and people, usually a small group of them, are the ONLY things that ever change the world. Think about it. Don't stop demanding a just investigation of this fraud, Do recognize our legitimate president on inauguration day, and don't stop demanding impeachment of The Son of a Bush. Don't let anyone pretend to your face that the lies are the truth, call them on it, in the supermarket, at the beauty salon, at work, call the doublethink lies for what they are, don't make like you believe it for a moment.

8. You're optimistic about a Dem win in 2006. Remember 2002...
We were all strutting like drunk peacocks, and then we lost.

If this is where we got with "God being in charge" then I have little hope for the rest of our lives with Bush...
