John Kerry: What should his next step be?
In his recent email, John Kerry acknowledges the efforts of the grassroots movement, and mentions by name Sinclair Broadcasting, which was perhaps the grassroots’ best organized boycotting action of the campaign. He urges us to be more active in government by cosponsoring his bill. He says “I am determined to make our collective energy and organization a force to be reckoned with in the weeks and months ahead.”

This is the time, while our country is on the verge of moral and economic collapse, for John Kerry to return to his roots – to lead the largest national protest ever. He has unprecedented direct access to his supporters through the internet. The eyes of the media are still upon him, and he has the sympathy of the international community. We need the John Kerry of 30 years ago to lend his voice now to the masses in an international boycott against corporations with corrupt business practices. We need him to call out the oil companies that refuse to acknowledge environmental problems, and call out the good ones that have responsible management. One word from him, and the push to boycott Mobil and Exxon and transfer our business to companies like Shell would increase tenfold. One word from him about fair business practices would drive business from Sam’s Club and Walmart to Costco – benefiting both local economies and American businesses.

Now that the election is over, we are left with a simmering pot of collective energy in search of a cook. He’s in a unique position to turn up the heat, season what’s cooking, and feed it to the companies that are upholding our values, while helping us to starve the beasts of corporate greed.

2. Keep campaigning against Bush and his policies
If you didn't see it, the video that accompanied the email is worth watching.

He talks about the rightwing nature of Bush's policies.
He talks about the falseness of Bush's 'outreach to Dems'
He talks specifically about healthcare for children and election reform.

Basically it seem he plans to remain strongly opposed to Bush.

5. Saw the video, loved the video
Love the fighting spirit in it. I meant the next step after that - I want him to harness what we have here with our intent to boycott, and help spread it to the non-DU world.

6. Election fraud, too, yep yep
That's a given, he addressed it in the video, he needs to be a strong champion for it, absolutely.

I'd like to see him do weekly emailed videos like this, as a way to counteract the affects of the media. I'd like a series of addresses to be about the specifics of election fraud.

If he were president, I would expect a return to the concept of the weekly radio address. I don't see why he can't do a weekly email address even if he doesn't win.

So, two things. One, keep people informed because god knows the media won't. Two, organize some mass movements, because we have great ideas here, but the ideas have a hard time getting outside of the DU crowd sometimes, at least within the US. I want him to help be our media.
