You win!

The Democrats are the champions of smaller, less intrusive government!

The Republicans are the party of Government Bloat!

2. I'm sure there is a divide forming in the repugs party
Some of them really are just not aware of whats going on. These we may be able to reach with an information campaign, but the hard regugs will probably refuse to see 4 ever.

3. Senate flips?
What are the odds moderate Repubs like Chaffee, Snowe, Collins, and a couple more might defect to the Democratic Party in protest over the "take-no-prisoners" hard right GOP majority. I would love to see that weasel Frist demoted!!!

5. Sen. Larry Craig (R-ID) seems to be fair.
During a senate judiciary committee meeting, he was admonishing Ashcroft in regard to expanding the Patriot Act. Craig said that he was among the senators who believed it needed an overhaul, so to speak, where citizens' civil rights were concerned.

6. Agreed, he seems as though his head is on straight, not only that but he
... almost single-handedly quash any attempts to have that asinine, so-called "assault weapons ban" extended. It was was designed to sunset after ten years (Sept, 13 1994 - Sept. 13, 2004)

... In effect, he helped kill any possibility for national gun-control for now.

... Always remember - the Second Amendment is the teeth of the US Constitution, with out it, it's just ink on paper.

7. He is a conservative but the...
true conservatives are concerned with American's civil liberties just like the liberals. As far as liberal values go I am sure he is not with us but definitely against us.

10. The reason I make this point is...
I am just finishing up George Lakoff's book "Moral Politics" and he really gets into the mindset of the conservative's and liberal's worldview. You should try is web site at http://www.rockridgeinstitute.org. I think every liberal in America should be reading this book. It has given me great insight about me and for that matter the conservatives in this country.
