Book Rec. for a Libertarian?

A good friend of mine has recently decided he would like to become Libertarian. Since I've decided to humour this notion of his, I thought it would be nice to get him a book for his birthday, relating to his most recent political (and lifestyle) transition.

Anyone here have any suggestions? They can range in subject matter from humourous to heavy, regardless, I'll still be presenting it to him facetiously. (I have my own opinions, after all)

4. in the continum of political philosophy
I would put libertarians above conservative republicans, but below "rockerfeller" republicans.

5. From what I gather, and I haven't delved too far,
I rather like the positions of Libertairans. Socially and personally liberal and fiscally conservative. But why is it whenever one of them gets out in public they always seem like such NUTjobs?
