Did anyone see the NOW segment last night on the Indian gambling?
Two lobbyists - one a good friend from college with Ralph Reed and a pioneer Bush fundraiser. The other the former press secretary for Tom Delay. They ROBBED some Indian tribes - said they'd lobby for them while they stabbed them in the back. We are talking MILLIONS of dollars here. And their emails were RACIST and disgusting. I mean HORRIBLY racist. And they were openly GREEDY like those Enron thugs caught on tape. The segment had Sen. McCain just tearing them apart a hearing last week over this scandal. I think this scandal could be huge. Money was laundered to Reed through a phony think tank in Delaware that was no more than an empty beach house. The money had to be hidden cuz Reed is supposed to be against gambling and he couldn't take gambling money directly.

I WANT THESE SICK FRAUDULENT FUCKS TO FRY!!!!!!!!!!

1. Yes, my husband was shocked. I already had read about it.
The story is even worse than what he showed. It didn't begin to show the sleaze that these 8 "friends" committed.

3. I'm going to look into this story
I just can't believe this is the first I'd heard of this story. Why aren't people using it to bring down that phony, moralizing, greedy hypocrite Ralph Reed. I want that pencil-necked geek to pay for this shit.

4. It was shocking
I saw it. I hate to sound so naive but I didn't know there was such deep racism against Native Americans. I was touched by the solicitor general of the tribe (I think that was his title) who said he and the other officials were like fathers to the rest of the tribe. THe way he said it, it did not sound like empty rhetoric.

12. I didn't know about the rascism either
until my Native American cousin opened up to me about her upbringing on the reservation, and how the white town kids used to call her the "N" word, among other things. She looks very Native (dark copper skin, long black hair, etc) and says that she spent most of her youth trying to look white. It's so sad; she's such a beautiful person-inside and out-it's just hard to imagine people treating her in such a despicable manner.

Ralph Reed, that good Christian man, had his hands in some real dirty work.

7. Yes, I did. DeLay's former press secretary is now a lobbyist.

They strong-armed the Indians, mafia-style. They took the casino away from them, then offered it back to them for $4 million.

Like you, I hope they get sent to prison, but I'm not holding my breath with the Republicans in charge.

I've been following Jack Abramoff since a couple of months ago when I started suspecting he might be connected with "Stolen Honor." I never did manage to get any more on that, but I found he's been connected with all sorts of other sleaze. (He's also a Bush Pioneer.)

Abramoff started off in the 80's with the College Republicans -- a group that's in plenty of trouble itself right now for its fundraising scams. It's sooooo nice to see these sleazeballs occasionally getting their just deserts.

11. Stop criticizing the Party of Values!

Maybe the whole "values" thing is just a reference to sales at Wal-Mart, and not morality. Maybe that's it.
