McCain on MTP says Iran has a few months to stand down
on the nuclear processing issue. The sabers are halfway out of the sheath and being rattled loudly.

Get the presses warmed up to send out those draft notices and to rewrite the budget to allow a deficit of 15 billion dollars.

I just do not fly well. And I doubt the planes will be up much longer anyway.

3. I can't believe how low this slimeball has sunk
He's talking about the CIA making "political" leaks to
affect the election. no mention of the CIA 911 study that
was deep sixed, or the Senate Intel committee hearings
delayed till after the election.

At one time I thought of this man as having independence.
I am stunned by the toady he has become.

4. Will someone please explain to me why the rest of the world (not
necessarily the U.N.) cannot give notice to the U.S. that it cannot unilaterally and perpetually select a country, invade it, occupy it, and essentially add it as a colony.

Is there not a body of countries, if not one country with economic and/or financial muscle, to stand us down and to say "Enough! Don't even think about it,"?

One hears about how Hitler could have been strategically stopped before he invaded Poland (i.e., stopped him from rebuilding the German Army, from annexing Austria, taking the Sudetenland, Czeckoslavakia, etc.). Coulda, shoulda, woulda.

Doesn't the world bear some responsibility in stopping this country from its own folly? Or is it even possible at this point in time?

6. do you think that US policy might be DRIVING Iran towards nukes?
as a self-protective move?

I can surely understand that approach.

I have some dear Iranian friends. We still exchange messages. The youth in Iran has gone from freedom loving to anti-american. They now believe that we are being led by the devil, that satan has taken over our policies.

They believe that Falluja is a massacre for which we will suffer for decades to come.

Just wait til we attack them.

10. Think of it in terms of our 2nd amendment.
The NRA justifies gun ownership based on our inalienable right to protect our property. Why shouldn't this be acceptable for a country? After what we've done in Iraq, every country in the world would be justified to arm themselves with WMD as a means to protect them from the Bush "Democracy" doctrine which is US invasion and occupation to control their natural resources.

Really, this is the logical progression of the Reagan/Bush "Mourning in America" they promised us 20 years ago.

11. Any nation is foolish not to arm themselves with nuclear weapons
as a hedge against invasion by the US. Iran is especially in this camp given its history with the US over the last 25 years. Their only means of self defense against the US is nuclear.

18. usual snafu....
only the america people can overthrow bush. kerry et al were 'onside' with the basics, though it's doubtful anything as obscene as bush wants could have been possible; still maybe it's time the US and the west crush the rightwingers who corrupt the whole, iow dismiss kerry etc...the battle is either 'the needs of the many versus the privilege of the few' on one hand, or more of the same on the other....consider this: saddam could have tripped bushinc's applecart easily, by resigning, by promising UN sponsored elections, by inviting the Pope/the dalai lama or the Chinese soccer team to bagdad in the week prior to actual invasion, but he didn't because WE ARE BEING CONNED! Bush tried to Blackmail the US congress/UN into supporting the illegal war, and he did it openly...yet even here at DU no one seems to think that's important....the rest of planet is less informed, less free to act then Americans, their governments corrupted and their wealth intentionally wasted on western enforced BS and we still want them to...what? The mediawhores are bushinc's SOFT SPOT....isn't there anyone with the ability to do something to the m'whores? If not, then relax...Lucifer has the entire thing on the line, and he'll reel it in soon, solving all humanity's problems... :) ;)

24. They have, many times over. Our home grown terrorists, BushCo ignore
them. It's just like the Isreali government terrorists, or the Iraqi government ignoring the UN mandates. We are a rogue nation. We are not listening to anyone. It, of course, will be our downfall.

8. after January
Well, here's -a- take.

Bush and co. managed to stall the elections in Iraq and withdrawal from that counry till after the inauguration (like Nixon and Kissinger did with Vietnam).

Once that's done, then they can take on Iran.

Hopefully... it will be too late and Iran will be well able to deter an attack by having a well armed and nuclear defense capability.

I -do- know that Iran is a much bigger, more stable and unified country than Iraq, and that it will be able to fight back.

I do -not- know whether Iran will have nuclear capability by next spring or summer.

whatever makes them think they can win in Iran?

Oh yeah, I forget, winning is not the point. Chaos in the Middle East is.

How many Americans can truly trust what's going on? They lied about Iraq, so why be truthful now?

14. It could be the other way round
Suppose the US eventually says that Iran stopped doing something they were never really doing. Then it could be spun that the Iraq invasion has acted as an effective deterrent.

of it anymore. I can't stand the attempt to drag us into their maddness. They've lost the ability to see we "the people." It's all about "them" and their dreams of endless war.

19. US was humanity's biggest investment
as a christian nation how could the hard men who always there when taxes etc are discussed manage to overlook the fact the biggest target for a real devil (if one accepts the devil as defined as the 'enemy of humanity') to slowly surely take over america? We all know that 'evil' was always seen as godless communism, rock'n'roll, the free love long haired hippy movement/counterculture, ted bundy type serial murderers, adolph hitler and his crazy goose steppers, drugs and the cartels that sell them especially mara juwanna and booze, hollywood and all that porn...greed as represented by pro athletes actors corrupt 3rd world leaders like saudi arabia's, and used car salesmen etcetera.....
fact is, the human race would worship anything, could perform any atrocity, believe any nonsense and murder anyone who said 'hold yer horses assholes' thinking that was the most wonderful thing ever.....the mystery to me is that anyone is surprised by the bush boondoggle....america was fukking lucky they had anything to lose...siberia was far richer in potential all the time
