CNN doing 'week-long' series on HIV (it begins....

of course, the piece was demonizing drug use (crystal meth)among the gay population.

and, I'm not denying that it happens or excusing it.

but, like 20/20's reinventing the Matthew Shepard case (gee, it wasn't SO bad after all... at least, that's what the KILLERS told us) it is the beginning of the backlash on all things gay.

watch for the word 'gay' to be phased out in favor of 'homosexual' too.

when Jack dies and Will (of Will & Grace) attenda christian conversion seminars and marries Grace, you'll know it too late....

They're discussing if it was really a hate crime or a just an everyday mugging.

8. riiiight...
a group of known RW thugs picks up a gay guy in a bar, beats him half to death, straps him to a fence, and leaves him to die. Yup, that's obviously just a mugging.

6. I am just completely and totally disgusted
with this country and the Democratic Party. Where are they while all of this is going on? Anti-gay americans already vote GOP anyhow..and now there is talk of moving further right on gay issues...

11. Interesting, as a former paramedic
it was my experience that meth was popular with the straight community.

In my ancetodatal life, my experience was that drug use was more mainstream in the straight community; "gay" users tended to be more of the criminal element.

I wasn't really sure how to word that; what I am trying to say is that mainstream professional gay folks tended to be more "law abiding..." pretty much social drinkers, some pot, etc.

I hope this post makes sense.
