Brilliant strategy: Get all the Democrats to destroy their own candidates
Let us rip apart Howard Dean so we can't bring in new voters Let us rip apart Kerry so we lose the military vote Let us rip apart Lieberman so we show the public we don't tolerate anyone that is not liberal. Let us rip apart Clark to show that we are paranoid about the military. Let us rip apart Gephardt to show we have no loyalty to poor people that worked hard for the party. Let us rip apart all the candidates. That way when they face Bush in 2004 they will be so beat up and discredited they will be crushed in the election and we can continue to whine and say the election was rigged and come back to DU and rant and rave about all the policies the Bush administration has passed for the next 4 year. Or we can be a bit more positive and try to strengthen all the candidates and whip Bush's ass in 2004? Which strategy do you prefer?
This is very tame so far. You should have seen previous campaigns, like the famous Gore commercial in which he had a Gephardt look-alike do somersaults as the announcer spoke about Gephardt's flip flopping on the issues. Or the one about "can you trust a man without eyebrows", also about Gephardt.
I thought the internet was fairly new. I didn't even know more than 5 people with a PC in 88 and certainly not anyone that would be "online" so to speak. Now I don't know five people that don't have a computer. And fewer that have not been online.
Don't you remember the premise of "Wag the Dog"? If it is on TV, it must be true!
BTW, while the civilian version of the internet has been around for a relatively short time, the military version that was developed by DARPA has been around for at least 20 years.
I do remember some of those commercials. But I thought you were talking about DU.
You are correct. The military started the internet as a security means to send signals across the phone lines. If people tried to tap the lines they just that annoying sound you hear when you dial. It was first for a few military bases in case of nuclear attack. Than it was linked to Universities. Than students were using them, and then the private sector. As computers became inexpensive and the population become more aware of them the internet took off into the private sector.
If your candidate can't win on his own merits without bashing another, what if the other candidate wins and you weakened him/her to the point that they can't win the nomination?
10. You're mistaken...Republicans choose based on who...
the party bosses approve. We(I) will choose based on who we think is best for the job. If that means that I have to bash other candidates in my party then so be it...but you'll find less of that from Dean supporters then you will find from Kerry supporters.
.....Dem's are too bright to make ammo for the Freepers.
Every piece of scandal (real or not), every stupid comment about hair or clothing.......everything can (and will) be used come election time. "Even Democrats say that ??? has a problem with ???."
