Chris Matthews holds right-winger to the fire, tune in now
Edited on Tue Nov-23-04 07:25 PM by imenja
A family values type on Hardball has just said Dan Rather "hates Americans." Chris Matthews isn't leading it slide. He's pinning her down to make her explain what she means by it. He and his other guest are attacking the idea of a "liberal elite." Tune in to MSNBC now!

1. Sorry to have also posted on this
Isn't Marty Kaplan helping to nail her butt! I always liked his show on Air America. I'd like to see more of him on these tv programs.

4. Or how about this one -
When she said the sep of church and state is not in the Constitution and he answers "So, what is it - an urban legend?" Way to go Marty. He's getting an email!

8. You know, the RW always overlooks the obvious ....
If the US was intended to be a Christian nation then why does the First Amendment directly contradict the First Commandment?

First Amendment: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof ... "

First Commandment: "Thou shalt have no other gods before Me."

Now ... if the Founding Fathers wanted a Christian nation, why would they have clearly stated in the very first amendment to the Constitution that the government would not impose any religion on people, nor would it prevent people from practicing their chosen religion. Shouldn't the amendment have said something like, "Congress hereby decrees that all people shall worship no other gods before the Christian God"

3. Hey...he's letting loose! Tune In...and forget his $4.5 Mil purchase of
House on Nantucket. Mighty Tweety thinks he will SUCKER US AGAIN???Give me a break...let him rot in his house next to "Big Tim" and "Big Jack."

There's alot of Fog on Nantucket in the fall and throughout the Winter months. Methinks he has that other house for sale down the road from Limbaugh in Palm Beach. The landscapers have already used OUR Insurance Money to fund that little baby...so that Tweety can entertain his "High Rollers" in the months where he needs a break from the cold Northwinds of his newest purchase.

"Them Northwinds to Blow" and they blow hard on those who forget their "upbrinings." They are a cold shoulder after the first flush of "Success..I made it ...I got mine...I'm the KING OF THE WORLD." Even though you are a "Media Whore" who sold America down the river and into the sewer.

Rave on Tweety! With your low ratings. You got the money coming just by being YOU...

5. Marty Kaplan is a priceless liberal
He's doing a great job giving the liberal point of view with humor, confidence and no apologies. He said "My point of view is for open mindedness, sep of church and state....". Anyhow, Marty is the star right now and he's not even in the studio.

6. Nope....Marty Kaplan can "Sing Liberalism" to the rooftops and Many DU'ers
will not give another viewing minute to that Whore from PA, Matthews/alias Tweety..who builds his fortunes on burned bodies of children in Iraq and threats of violence against Democrats in America.

Enjoy him...but, you'd be better off going to your bookstore and reading some Liberal Books describing what's going on here in America than listening to that piece of washed up trash who shouts with the spittle rolling down his mouth that "I WORKED FOR TIP O'NEIL" therefore I DESERVE TO BE A PUNDIT!

Who the hell left in America under a certain age looks at "working for Tip O'Neil as a credential for your RIGHTS to PRETEND you are a DEMOCRAT!

FGS...Tweety made his Faustian Bargain...let him keep his appointment in Hell...

7. I use to like him
But ever since awol fuckface chimpie was re appointed he has been wearing his pink panties and tutu dancing for the repugs singing about fuckfaces so called "mandate".

He could have done a lot more-honest reporting for a start before and after the election.

Matthews can kiss my ass.

14. If you only watch or read what you agree with
you willfully choose to be ignorant. What is so threatening about opposing ideas? My problem with the right is that they refuse to pay attention to anything that counters their worldview and resent that such ideas are even expressed. My convictions are strong enough to listen to alternative view points. I look at evidence and different points of view and then make up my mind. I find myself wanting to respond here like I do to the right wingers. If your positions on issues depend on ignoring evidence and other points of view, your ideas aren't as strong as you think.
Matthews runs a sideshow, but occasionally has good guests (like Marty Kaplan) and once in a while even make some good points himself. Most of the guys who run TV shows are far more conservative than Matthews--like all of the characters on FOX news. To beat the Republicans, we need to know what they are thinking. Also, I'd bet money that Matthews voted for Kerry in this election. It seemed pretty clear to me that he opposed Bush (though he confesses to having voted for him in 2000) and wrote columns opposing the war in Iraq before it broke out and when the rest of the media was cheering it on.
Furthermore, MSNBC has the only clear liberal on commercial television: Keith Olbermann.

15.  smile :)
Matthew was one of the biggest jerks around during the Clinton days., but he seems to be making progress. A few weeks ago, he called the run up to the Iraqi war "nothing but agitprop" and said the media echoed every word of it. The guy seems like he's starting to get it.

11. Do or don't - I couldn't care less
I've always enjoyed Kaplan's radio program on AAR. If I see he's on tv and I choose to stop and watch a while and then comment on him, I hardly see why you should be going off on a rant. But then, perhaps you're in between books and have time on your hands. And that's my last word on this.

13. hey, if someone wants to make a quicktime of that segment...
I'll download it, but I will not watch Tweety.

That moron helped bush steal this election, he's cooperating in the lockdown by not reporting on what's happening.

he can burn in hell.
