Poll question: Why Did Dan Rather Leave?
This is my first attempt at a poll, so here it goes . . .

2. Rather is in his 70s and has been with CBS over 40 years......
Maybe he just wanted less work?

3. Well somebody's got to tend to the ranch down Taos way . . .
and since Dan's ranchero partner Rummy gets to keep his job now, somebody's got to do it . . .

5. Rather didnt leave CBS
CBS left him when they left objective honest journalism and replaced it with propaganda.

Remember NOONE EVER PROVED THOSE GUARD DOCUMENTS WERE FALSE, THAT WAS JUST SPIN AND CONJECTURE. THEY WERE JUST NOT PROVEN TRUE.

Ask yourself.
Why does this standard apply to Dan Rather and this one story when all of MSM is full of unproven 'facts' (sic)?

6. None of the above. Being a traditional investigative journalist ....
...these days is frustrating. Rather is one of those kinds of journalists who digs into a story and takes risks. Nobody does that anymore. They wait for AP and Reuters reports and the White House Press Secretary to feed them their news --then they run it past their corporate filters if there is any risk of the story being 'controversial' (aka, bad for Bush, or bad for company profits).

I think Rather and Brokaw just don't fit the new 'journalist' profile. It's all about being obnoxious and dishonest anymore. Enter Chris Matthews, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, and Paula Zahn.

Rather will continue working on the last remaining vestige of investigative reporting: 60 Minutes.

10. Who cares?
The man is old. He has money. Why should he stay? He's probably pissed off that nobody payed attention to the point of his Bush story and focused on one piece of the larger puzzle.

13. Ratings....
Not because people thought he was too liberal but because more people were watching NBC.

The only people I know who watched Dan Rather every night are my grandparents and other older people.

Funny thing is my grandma loves Bush AND loves watching Dan Rather.
