Keith Olbermann Calls a spade a spade...

"RINGLEADER", posted:
I've Arrived: Keith Olbermann Calls Me A "Partisan Hack"

"Olbermann went nuts last night, sending me 9 e-mails in the span of about 10 minutes all PO'd because I sent him an e-mail making fun of the fact that he's had to retract pretty much every voter fraud story he's done so far. In one of the e-mails he even went off on Ann Coulter (calling her an "idiot") and some guy from another newspaper I never heard of. I found this weird because I never mentioned either of these people in my original e-mail.

He also claimed that his efforts in mis-reporting all these voter fraud stories was to get at the truth (ironic and funny at the same time). Why the liberals won't just admit that this exercise in futility is meant to get Kerry elected is revealing.

I think Keith Olbermann needs a vacation...oh, wait, he just got back from one.

That's from his conversation with Howard Fineman of Newsweek last night.

Also, as you're repeating a lie about our coverage of Florida and Ohio, let me correct you.

What that idiot Coulter left out of her story was that we covered the Dixiecrat voting history of the Florida counties. We even had a map showing where they were, to explain that. Coulter ignored this. It's on tape.

And as to Ohio, we called the SOS's office on Monday the 8th before airing the Cuyahoga data and they told us they had no explanation for it, and Cuyahoga hadn't provided them with any. Cuyahoga's county board didn't provide an explanation until late on the 9th ("we think those might be absentee ballots"). The Pittsburgh writer who started that crap was writing a week later, long after Cuyahoga figured out their accounting mistakes.

And the point of this coverage -- inconceivable to partisan hacks like yourself -- is to get at the truth, not to get anybody elected.

8. I feel kind of worried for Olbermann...
Edited on Wed Nov-24-04 02:40 PM by high density
Now that Dan Rather is leaving, Olbermann is going to be their target now. I think Olbermann does a good job at shooting down the middle, but clearly that's a problem for Republicans who want everything to be like Fox News.

10. Worried?
Um, have you seen Keith's ratings?

Unless he takes Dan Rather's spot, nobody's worried about him.

But that didn't stop them from canceling that show.

22. I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss this...
RL is a leading edge RNC propagandist.

He spreads the Regressive Republican's message early and often. He is a total and complete hack.

But if he's latched onto Keith like he has, it's because the RNC is going after him.

For anyone interested this website is a good forum to visit. One of the regular posters there is a occasional FNC guest and the political editor for the Washington Dispatch.

Just an FYI.

15. yeah, but he's not gonna flinch
The freakers and the MRC have been attacking him for years. I doubt he really gives 2 sh*ts.

It is too bad that he is now the only voice of reason among MSM. This will draw additional fire, but lucky for us, he can take it. He's never been known for backing down to anyone.

Besides, who puts any stock in the rantings of these right-wing zealots anyway?

17. If they get rid of Keith, I have no reason at all to watch MSNBC.
It's the only program of any real value on that whole network.

12. "retract pretty much every voter fraud story " - other than absentee Ohio
and Dixiecrat border of Florida - and the Dixiecrat explanation does not hold up - for the record -

Pray tell what Countdown story did they "retract"

Indeed as Countdown notes - to update with information that was not provided 24 hours earlier as in Ohio - is not a retraction.

I am sure Countdown does not get too upset when 14 year old males pretend to be adults and claim superior knowledge of what is truth.

I do like the 9 emails in 10 minutes touch - if you are going to lie, then lie BIG - this kid has a future in the GOP!

:toast:

:-)

I do not expect 14 year old's to understand Statistics - so I'll cut him some slack as a kid pretending to be an adult!

:-)

13. I'd bet this wasn't Keith
Edited on Wed Nov-24-04 03:00 PM by restorefreedom
I can't imagine Keith would call other writers, even nuts like Coulter, idiots and such. He would know that his emails could be quoted and printed. I also don't think he would waste time sending jerks like this 9 emails in 10 minutes. Surely he has better things to do.

And the "from" line doesn't look right. Anyone can type a memo to look like a "sent from" email. His full email address (NBC universal, etc) should also be in the "from" line. That's not what a "from" line looks like when you get an email from someone at NBC. This smells funny.

Someone should forward this to Keith. I think this "email" was made up and that ringleader is a big liar.

16. you are right...
...his address at msnbc is countdown@msnbc.com

He uses a completely different email address for personal correspondence, and it's personal, not msnbc. This is complete bullshit.

20. If you google that email address it's posted in a few other places...
I'm guessing it's one of a few email-forward addresses that point to Keith in one way or another.

I don't doubt the authenticity of the email... just context of the response.

18. RINGLEADER is a liar, but I'm guessing this is from Keith's email.
RL is a hack, a shill, duplicitous and careful about (but willing to) lie on occasion.

His MO is to remove all context and tell you what the context is.

You'll notice that RL didn't post his email to Keith... he tells you about it. Then quotes Keith's full response.

He's a young Fox News producer in waiting, IMO.

26. I think the game is Bullsh**
and I'm callin' it.

Olbermann has much more finesse and command of the language than to simply call Coulter something as commonplace as "idiot." When he flames her, he fires up the English barbee and bastes her slowly and deliberately, like a twirling pig on a spit.

23. Don't these people understand an evolving story?
It's not retraction, it's just reporting the news as it happens. You find irregularities, you get explanations for them the next day. If you never report these occurences, you'd never get at the truth. And one of them might not be easily explainable. Even if it doesn't mean fraud, it means that the system is flawed and needs work before the next election.
