A Question About Alex Jones & PrisonPlanent.com
I've seen several people here at DU reference ALex Jones and one day a followed a link to prisonplanent.com. It looked interesting so I bookmarked it for further reading. Well, after digging into the site a little deeper, I'm rather conflicted.

He seems to present some valid information and agruments about the powers that be, but then he does a 180 and sounds like a crackpot. What I'm refering to is the moral meltdown page...http://www.prisonplanet.com/archive_moral_meltdown.html

Is this page here for any other reason that to promote homophobia, anti-feminism, fundamentalism, and all around freeper thought. Or is it there to expose it and I just missed the disclaimer?

1. And Henry Makow (PhD????)
is this some kind of joke? It reads like a fundie spoof blog or something.

Maybe I am missing something as well.

3. I agree, he seems to be fighting the good fight one minute
then veers off into some strange, uncharted territory that resembles enemy territory. But, overall, he seems sincerely out to expose lies, which makes him ok by me.

4. I listen to him often
and admit some of it is pretty far fetched, however, some of it isn't. I have cross-checked some references on people he's had on his show, to see if they are for real, and they are. I have googled on a few guests, to discover there are other links of these people (i.e. found one German newspaper to corroborate one guest's assertions)

There's a saying in an organization I know of...take what you need and leave the rest. He was all over this latest mental health screening awhile back, and now it's showing up on DU boards as a surprise to a lot of people. I didn't believe him about the implantable chips, til I went to the company's website and saw for myself. I question a lot, but I don't discount him necessarily either.

Only time will tell...

Far as his own beliefs, yes, he is a libertarian and a Christian, although not of the variety who voted for W.

5. Alex's father
was (and maybe still is, for all I know) a member of the John Birch Society. So that's what AJ grew up with. I really admire the guy. He could have sold out for big bucks to Clear Channel or some other reich-wing talk network long ago, but he won't agree to their terms.

I think it is rather amazing that he is as "progressive," if you could call it that, as he is. He admits that he was once a Young Republican at UT before he dropped out at age 19 or 20 to do talk shows and make videos. It takes a lot of guts to go against anyone named Bush in Texas and he's been doing it for many years.

6. Yep, he started with the Waco siege.
And has faced some heavy fire. He does have guts, for sure.
