What would make an entire family like the Bushes, so well endowed with
wealth and power, to stoop to underhanded methods to acquire more power and wealth? It is not as if just one generation engaged in such tactics. It seems to pervade several generations.Very puzzling.

1. Genetic predispostion to
ruthlessness, lying, love of the hunt, callousness and narcissism. And it pays well.

2. I'm reading Kitty Kelley's book right now
And the definite sense I get is that this is a VERY competitive and achievement oriented family. Really into sports, and losing or being average isn't tolerated. It's all about winning for them. They may have a lot of money but I'm glad I'm not one of them. I actually feel sorry for any Bush family member who isn't successful or who embarrasses them, like Noelle Bush. God, they must be giving that poor girl hell. Did you see that website released shortly before the election where some of *'s distant cousins were pleading with Americans not to vote for him?

5. They do not particularly give me the impression that anyone has
achieved anything significant. If one looks at George W.Bush, Neil Bush,Marvin Bush or Jeb Bush all one senses are mediocrities that have reached financial successes by who they know and not what they know.

6. The appearance of success is more important to them than actual success
You are correct about that. That is why they will fight to the death to maintain their image.

10. I have never sensed in them the kind of decency one has come to
expect from the Kennedys. In fact, one senses that they always opt for the expedient thing in any situation.

3. Read Kitty Kelley's "The Family".
She pretty well nails it as a sense of entitlement without any nurture to think about sharing with anyone else. Business is about making money for yourself. It has nothing to do with success in enterprise other than making sure you get out before the train wreck.

4. Greed. It's at the root of our wars, the cause of unemployment, and the
reason for global warming.
It's the disease that will wipe out humankind long before any virus does.
