I can't believe what just came out of Tweety's mouth
Edited on Thu Nov-25-04 03:16 AM by Nordic
That man has absolutely no shame.

I just want to slam him in the head with a sledgehammer.

Anyone else see this? He was talking to Amy Goodman, and I love her, so I was watching it, and she was doing great, but this other cunt-whore was being just a godawful lying sack of urine, and anyway .....

to get to the point, Matthews at one point actually said this: He said Bush invaded Iraq not because of WMD's but to "liberate the country."

I turned it off, tried to go to sleep. But I am so pissed that I got out of bed, rebooted the computer and here I am typing this.

This comment cannot go unchallenged.

Who's got that fucker's e-mail?

I'm assuming the show can be contacted at hardball@msnbc.com

But what about him, directly. Anybody know?

I can't believe he fucking said that.

Does he have alzheimers? Can he not remember jack shit about the last two or three years?

We invaded iraq because Bush said it was a THREAT TO THE UNITED STATES. NO OTHER REASON.

I am so pissed if I saw that white haired fucker I'd seriously bash his face in.

on edit:

And by the way, where the hell did that thread go about Amy Goodman being on Hardball? I can't find it anywhere.

3. hey, thanks, but I'm afraid that's not it
it was a thread regarding Amy Goodman's being on the show. She's a hero. If you read her book, you'll know why. It's depressing, but awesome. Awesome in that she's still fighting the fight, every day of her life, after all that she has seen. Most people would have walked away and said "fuck it".

2. Yeah, I heard it too...
and not one called him on this blatant lie. What made me more mad, was the utter manufactured sincerity he portrayed when he made such a obvious lie.

4. here's what I wrote to hardball@msnbc.com
subj: Has Matthews lost his mind?

I can't believe what just came out of that man's mouth.

He was interviewing Amy Goodman, which is the only reason I was watching the show tonight, and he actually had the unmitigated IGNORANCE to state this:

quoting loosely: "The reason Bush gave for invading Iraq was not WMD's, he has made it clear that his reason for invading Iraq was to LIBERATE THE COUNTRY."

Okay. Take a deep breath and think about this. Has Matthews had part of his brain removed? Have you replaced him witn an alien pod-person? Where was he living in the last three to four years, under a goddamn ROCK?

Bush had us invade Iraq because he said IRAQ WAS A DIRECT THREAT TO THE UNITED STATES.

Get it straight. YOU, motherfuckers, are the problem that Amy Goodman was talking about. YOU are complicit in the mass murder of thousands upon thousands, and for THAT, YOU may die and roast in hell for all eternity.

You are scumbags and liars and pawns and I hope to see you all hanging from lampposts in the VERY NEAR FUTURE.

Fuck you, you lying traitorous pieces of shit.

5. Yeah, Amy must have thought "did he just say what I think he said?"
but I sure wish she'd called him on it. She probably couldn't believe he actually said that.

9. Done.
WHY did we invade Iraq?

Because we were told it was an imminent threat to the United States.

NOT to "liberate" the suffering Iraqis.

I only respond to one lie a day (for health reasons). Today it was Chris Mathews' lie.

I understand the whole Nazi/Hitler Big Lie tell-it-often-enough-it-becomes-the-truth, but it's not the truth. We invaded because of the lie that we were in danger. We've killed over 100,000 Iraqis and over 1200 American soldiers. Because of a lie. Changing the lie doesn't make it less a lie.

Stop lying.

Sincerely,

11. I can't stand that lying Tweedy assed twerp.
The only reason I watched him this evening was to see Goodman.

He is semi right though, the bushie wanted to go into Iraq for Iraqi liberation purposes. They, bushie and the rest of the PNACers seriously wanted to liberate all that Iraqi oil. Other than that, well, that was the reason. The only reason. :grr:

12. I caught that too. Surprised Amy didn't take it up.
Oddly neither Amy nor the RW hack from San Francisco she was on with caught it. The RW hack was focused on WMDs and apparently didn't want to get into a discussion of the real reasons for going to war.

I'm gonna cut Tweety some slack here and say he was trying to guide the discussion by throwing out a bone that frankly, Amy could have run off with.

It was a good debate. Amy kicked ass. Tweety stayed out of it and let them rip, and at the end that RW woman looked like she'd rather be anywhere but where she was.

13. liberation
Why is there no MSM OUTRAGE over the 100,000 Iraqi LIVES that the USA liberated from Iraqi citizens? We had to kill them to liberate them? How does killing 100,000 civilians win hearts and minds?

Sorry,

I should save my outrage for basketball players that fight fans. Now that sumtin I can understand!

14. Remember: Tweety works for General Electric....
....one of our largest defense contractors. His boss is Jack Welch, a major Bush supporter.

War makes them happy. They want it to make you happy too.

15. Well, there were the pre-invasions reasons and the post-
invasion reasons. And actually a person (including, and perhaps especially commentators) ought to explicitly distinguish and identify which they are referring to.

16. War reasons were changing daily and Goodman is not such a hero
Edited on Thu Nov-25-04 09:13 AM by robbedvoter
She ignored the coup 2000, screamed that Gore lost, followed W's tool Nader all the way to 2004. The word "vote" never passed her heroic lips.
I listened to her during the Iraq war coverage, but the moment the war ebded, she reverted to sounding loony. I saw her recently bawling over Arafat...
Sorry, but Tweety is a multipersonality whore and Amy is one that keeps the left safe away from power. they ultimately help the hunta from different angles - probably paid from the same pocket.

Hardball's last transcript is from Tuesday's show. Date on the site says it was last modified yesterday evening...

It takes them over a day to add a transcript?

23. Yeah, I got the subtle hint that Tweety was on Amy's side...
He would HAVE to be subtle or they'd kick his ass off TV.

He let Amy come out with A LOT of info...Info that just whipped that doofus from SanFran Chronicle...

Don't overreact. It was a GOOD thing that Amy was "allowed" to even go on the show...think about it.

22. Tweety's a sack of shit
and he seems pretty sexist as well. He said that Thanksgiving is a great American holiday because women do the cooking and men sit around watch football.

The guy's an ass and his brother was a delegate at the RNC. I see no reason why to pay attention to him.
