Count your blessings and know good happens.
Edited on Thu Nov-25-04 12:43 PM by havocmom
Feeling sad and angry still, I pondered how to tell all you evilDUers Happy Thanksgiving. Well, The election is still a farce and it pisses me off that they are marching in the Ukraine but it takes a parade about consumption to get people out in the streets here after the Coup Part II. Yeah, da momma was feeling pretty nasty about life. Am sure many of you feel the same.

For those who know how black black can be, I offer this gem from today's Tucson Daily Star. Just a reminder, not all is politics and not all is without hope. Miracles happen, if we look closely at life.
15 year old awake from coma

<snip> Sophomore Talin Rogers slowly came out of the coma this week and is recovering from brain injuries caused by the Oct. 1 accident, said Sue Koepke, the family's spokeswoman, who visited Rogers and his mother Wednesday.

<snip> One of Rogers' best friends, Derek Radcliffe, a 15-year-old sophomore, was elated his friend was awake but unsure about his condition.

<snip> "He was hit by a car. No one I've known has ever experienced something like that," Radcliffe said. "So you never know what to expect."

<snip> His fears where quelled when he asked Rogers to engage in a secret handshake the two developed in eighth grade. They go up for a high-five and "swoosh" down for a low-five while making a rocket sound, then shake hands.

and have yourself a good Thanksgiving. Hope your team wins and all your kids are healthy, noisy and well. Hope your pie is the best ever and the weather fine for your walk. Hope you recognize some miracle today and take the time to let your soul smile through all the tears it has shed.

Happy thanksgiving, DU. I am thankful you all are out there in the world. Keep the light on in the window.

Peace,
hm

5. Hey there, canadianbeaver, Welcome to the DU!
Thanks for the hug. Back at ya!

Are you in the east or west? If west, I am a sort-of neighbor (distances being a relative thing out in the vast west). Am in Montana.
:hi: Looking forward to seeing/reading you around the boards.

:toast:

3. Bless all that we receive
Our grace goes like this:

Oh Thou, the Sustainer of our bodies, hearts, and souls
Bless all that we receive in thankfulness

Amin

It is also a good spiritual practice.

Thank you very much for your post. May blessings be yours today and for the tomorrows to come.

4. Thankful for web-cast of KXCI Community Radio Tucson
Blasting away on the 'puter, I putter in the kitchen. Arlo comes on with a tale about Alice and her restaruant... I know my family in Tucson prolly has it on too. My bro and sis are singing along. My daughter, in charge of the cooking tasks this year, is laughing and shaking her head. We all sing together, 1500 miles apart.

You can get anything you want... if you use your head and shake what yer momma give ya!

How I am thankful for the drug of music and the human voice.
