Why on earth would the King & Queen of Spain go to Crawford, TX?

No offense to Texans, but that pig farm in the middle of Crawford is not a place that anyone would ever actually want to go visit and I'm sure that with some of the cuisine and traditional tapas that they could have while sitting at one of their palaces is far more desirable than some Turkey with Smirky...

And on a serious note, the spanish monarchy does not "rule" Spain, so why are they meeting with Bush and him with them when he hasn't bothered to take calls from the democratically elected leader of Spain nor met with him?

I wonder how the Spanish felt about seeing their "Monarchy" meeting with King George....

What a swell way to celebrate a holiday that supposedly commemorates the underpinnings of American democracy -- by entertaining royalty. The King of Spain has no political powers, but obviously Boy George prefers the concept of a hereditary, non-democratic power structure, and probably would like to learn how he can make his current gig permanent.

I would love to know how the Spanish feel about this....can't imagine they thought this visit by their Monarchy was a good thing and probably a lot of them took offense...

Who knows - Maybe Georgie was promising Juan and Sophia to install them back in place after he has taken over the world and return the Monarchy to its "rightful" place?

Bush's list of demands was probably unbearable but POPPY WAS PROBABLY TRHERE TO MAKE SURE THAT HIS JUNIOR GOT EVERY THING HE DEMANDED, ALONG WITH EQUAL ROYAL TREATMENT FROM THE QUEEN AND KING OF SPAIN ... and ultimately to chauvinistically say, hey rest of the world, we are on a one-to-one speaking term with their blue blood.

This is a trend, it is Not the first time that Bush has done things in Crawford that he should have done in Washington.

"Monarchy" is a form of government. The person who heads a monarchy is a monarch.
