Aaron Brown just said they couldn't find any soldiers to talk negatively
about the war. He said no one stop them from talking to soldiers and how fair they were.

Thank you Arron You just made me shut off CNN for good.

1. HA!
Someone should tell Brown about the numerous articles in such "rags" as the Washington Post in which soldiers (Marines, actually) have gone on and on about how fucked up this war is.

What a delusionoid.

21. It may be true. Many soldiers won't go negative on record...
remember how they hate Kerry for doing so. Also, many refuse to admit that they are in a vain fight, scared to death, and won't admit that they are wrong. They still need their monthly check and they still need to get home safely.

4. He should have tuned into C-span this morning.
They had a military only call in. I didn't see all of it but heard plenty of Iraq soldiers complaining.

6. How about allowing them to communicate in an anonymous manner?
No one in the military would openly criticize this government. With the backdoor draft, they're probably afraid that they'll never be allowed to leave.

7. Why in the world does any progressive still watch CNN
and then complain about it?

If all the liberals and progressives stopped watching the so-called main stream media, worked to get their own network, they would suffer financially

10. Odd...at this very moment on C-Span....
they are doing a re-run of an earlier show today in which soldiers are calling in and recounting their experiences and feelings...and the concensus among these respondents is the exact opposite of what ol Aaron is saying...hmmmmm....

that there are no soldiers who think negatively about the war? The people at CNN are lazy. They read a paragraph or two from some other news source and then analyze it (make stuff up) and then report it as news. I think I would have more respect for them if they were more blatantly biased or outrageous or something, and not just lazy. I don't watch CNN anymore - and I have thought they were lazy long before now. AB probably asked two soldiers if they would say anything negative - they say "no." Public hears "Not a single soldier in Iraq -thinks- anything negative about the war in Iraq." Nobody should be watching these people regardless of what their political persuasion is. If they were entertaining there would be some excuse, but CNN is so boring my husband calls it "coma TV."

15. well...
I'd stopped watching CNN entirely, but tonight I was channel-flipping and stopped on Brown's amazingly smug, snarky commentary at the beginning of his show. *Click*.

It's amazing they have any viewers left - but ratings obviously don't matter to the propaganda puppets at CNN.

17. The bush ass-kissing is so blatant
on CNN you can see the right-wing puke gushing out. I cant stand the sickening Fallwellesque smiles from their talking heads. Their reporting is pablum, putrid cod-liver oil, arrogant bullcrappy. They are Rovian-robots. Oh Bernie Shaw, where are you?
Hmmmmmmm - wonder what's on Fox right now?

16. I watched c-span as well earlier, hmmmmm, I guess Aaron
doesn't take calls that require an honest reporting of one's experiences...they had so many calling in talking about the war and not in the glowing terms these network machines would like the american people to believe is factual reporting...I really feel for our soldiers;-( some of those calls were honestly heartbreaking...

18. Catch a clue, Aaron...
And spend some time doing a Google with the words "soldier", "blog" and "Iraq". You can find some soldiers who take their concerns right to the NET and not the US media. However, also take a look below about one soldier who did that and the consequence..is it any wonder they are not openly talking negatively to you and your cameras??

http://www.lewrockwell.com/orig5/lorentz1.html

Before I begin, let me state that I am a soldier currently deployed in Iraq, I am not an armchair quarterback. Nor am I some politically idealistic and naïve young soldier, I am an old and seasoned Non-Commissioned Officer with nearly 20 years under my belt. Additionally, I am not just a soldier with a muds-eye view of the war, I am in Civil Affairs and as such, it is my job to be aware of all the events occurring in this country and specifically in my region.

I have come to the conclusion that we cannot win here for a number of reasons. Ideology and idealism will never trump history and reality.

http://www.lewrockwell.com/kwiatkowski/kwiatkowski94.html

Al penned a factual personal assessment of what is happening in Iraq. He revealed no classified information. Far more detail on Iraq challenges has long been provided by respected retired military officers like Marine General Tony Zinni and former Director of the National Security Agency William Odom. Al wrote nothing more damning than what has already been published and released in part by the Central Intelligence Agency regarding conditions and future possibilities in Iraq.

The military chain of command is considering charging Al with violation of Article 134 for making a statement with the intent to promote disloyalty or disaffection toward the U.S. by any member of the Armed forces.
