The Green Party is more to my liking
than the Democratic Party.

http://www.therealdifference.com/issues.html

See what the difference between the Democratic party and the Republican party is, and what the Greens say that is different from the common stance that both the Dems and Republicans say.

If I truly voted my conscience, I would have voted for Cobb. As it is, I went for the electable candiate. If Dean would have made the nomination I would have gone that way with my conscience intact. I sold out.

Next time, it's Green for me.

8. Greens always had my sympathy til Jon Stewart...
...during his book discussion at the NYC library last month. Now, they have my pity. The poor woman who attended as the spokesperson for the Green Party (can't find her name) became a target for Stewart's often over-zealous, though always witty, verbal attacks.

But, I couldn't blame just Stewart because this woman had no intention of attending as a participant in the discussion. She was on a mission to plug the Green party, regardless of appropriateness or even coherence.

It became PAINFUL to watch as she first monopoloized the microphone, then later rudely grabbed it from the hands of other participants and was eventually refused use of the microphone at all.

If anything, this woman's inconsiderate tyrades only served to make the Green party look absolutely, painfully ridiculous.

Since politics is more or less a game of charisma vs. intellect, it may behoove the Green party to find less adversarial, offensive and rude spokespersons. Just a thought.

In the mean time, keep on keepin on.

10. I have to say the Greens do need to work on the things you mention here
I just received a bunch of their publications and while some of the stuff is interesting, a lot of it comes across as amateurish and ham-fisted to me.

There is a lot of room for improvement and, as someone who just joined, I get the feeling that the Party is open to all viewpoints in its membership contributing to the discussion of how to improve the Party and in what direction we should go.

We'll see. I'm at least energized by the possibility that I can contribute my voice to the discussion, rather than just my dollars to their coffers.

2. I'm done with the Democratic Party. I might go Green
What I'd like is for Howard Dean to start a new party that has nothing to do with the Democratic Party.

I don't want the scent of "loser" on me by any association with the Democratic party. They couldn't beat a dead horse in an election. They are an embarrassment.

3. Welcome aboard.
I will always look fondly upon the Democrats and wish them well in their drive to become a center party, but I'll likely be voting Green from now on.

4. I am just about ready to join myself
I would rather vote my conscious and feel good about my vote instead of feeling I'm more concerned with voting against a certain party. Take a look at this graph.

The Democrats have wandered so far to the middle, Kerry was actually in the right section. :( I have not given up yet, but something will need to change or I see no reason to not go Green. Read their platform. It is like a breath of fresh air.

5. Same here...
The Democratic Party is too beholden to corporate interests. The Green's platform looks much better to me.

6. Fine. But is VOTING a viable option for real change?
If our votes don't count, who are we kidding?

9. The thing I like about the Greens is that they recognize that voting
is really just one action that is part of a larger activist life as a citizen/participant.

In other words, everything is not centered around the vote on Election Day. The Greens seem to put a high priority on organizing and grassroots activism throughout the year as a given, whereas the Dems seem to put more emphasis on gearing up the faithful only around elections.

The GOP recognizes the value of having dedicated rightwing foot soldiers working for causes the GOP has embraced (anti-choice, religious right). Too bad the Dems don't do the same with activists on the left, or only seem to do so as elections apporach.

11. I'm not a member of any party...
and that looks like that's not going to change anytime soon. Every party has its' sellouts. Simply put, the Green party will never be a viable party. As long as free thought is supressed and information is filtered by corporate media, that's the way it will be.
