Meet the Press and the 9/11 commission chairmen discussing
Edited on Sun Nov-28-04 09:33 AM by Mira
congressional stalling of action about their recommendations for reform in Congress.
Tom Kean, (R),the chairman of the 9/11 commission say offhandedly:
"Less people have died in Iraq so far than have died on 9/11".

Neither his co-chairman Hamilton, who sat beside him, nor Russert took notice of 2 implications in the comment:
The complete disregard for Iraqi casualties, and the "subtle" link yet again of 9/11 and the atrocity of the war in Iraq.

I am outraged. This has got to stop.

3. Because our gutless media has been scared to death
by this administration. Thomas Kean is a nasty man and part of the bush crime family. Google Thomas Kean and find out who his friends are and what he has done in life. Henry Kissinger and John Negroponte can dine with Thomas Kean any day any time and any place.

Jerry Falwell is on this morning, and the only way I'll watch is if he on at the same time with Al Sharpton.

14. This has been a very interesting and very telling discussion
with this panel of religious leaders. I now have a respect for Rev. Sharpston that I never did because I hadn't paid attention enough.

4. Russert thinks Saddam was in on 9/11. He doesn't know any better.
That's why he's not qualified to sit on national TV and pretend to be an expert on the entirety of the facts while still ignoring such a fundamental question. Of course, in Tim's defense, he's an entertainer, NOT a journalist.

10. Not only does Mr. Potatohead think 'Saddam was in on 9/11',
he thinks Saddam "reconstituted his nuclear weapons" - you know, the ones he never had.

Or, Little Wuss thinks facts not important, and interchangeable. How 'bout those Bills?

5. Is it 'they know not what they do' or 'they care not what they do'.
Either way, I can't forgive them.

7. Mr. Kean and his unclean hands...oil under the nails....
....retired New Jersey Governor Thomas Kean, was a "safe pair of hands," we were assured by the professional assurers in the mainstream media. The fact that he'd been out of public life for years--and that he hadn't collaborated in the deaths of tens of thousands of Cambodians, Chileans and East Timorese--certainly made him less controversial than his predecessor, although to be fair, Kissinger's expertise in mass murder surely would have given the panel some unique insights into the terrorist atrocity.

But now it seems that Kean might possess some unique insights of his own. Fortune Magazine reports this week that both Kean and Bush share an unusually well-placed business partner: one Khalid bin Mahfouz -- perhaps better known as "Osama bin Laden's bagman" or even "Osama bin Laden's brother-in-law."

Kean, like so many worthies, followed the revolving door out of public service into lucrative sweetheart deals and well-wadded sinecures on corporate boards. One of these, of course, is an oil company--pretty much a requirement for White House work these days. (Or as the sign says on the Oval Office door: "If your rigs ain't rockin', don't come a-knockin'!") Kean is a director of Amerada Hess, an oil giant married up to Saudi Arabia's Delta Oil in a venture to pump black gold in Azerbaijan. (The partnership is incorporated in a secretive offshore "tax haven," natch. You can't expect a worthy like Kean to pay taxes like some grubby wage slave.)

One of Delta's biggest backers is the aforesaid Mahfouz, a Saudi wheeler-dealer who has bankrolled some of most dubious players on the world scene: Abu Nidal, Manuel Noreiga, Saddam Hussein and George W. Bush. Mahfouz was also a front for the bin Laden family, funneling their vast wealth through American cut-outs in a bid to gain power and influence in the United States.

8. just a reminder...
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2003/07/30/world/main565782.shtml
WASHINGTON, July 29, 2003
(CBS/AP) President Bush refused on Tuesday to release a congressional report alleging possible links between Saudi Arabian officials and the Sept. 11 hijackers. The White House sought to question a Saudi citizen who befriended two of the hijackers.

Bush said he could not comply with a request by the Saudi foreign minister for a chance to clear the Arab kingdom's name because publication of the report could hurt U.S. intelligence operations.

The foreign minister, Saud al-Faisal, said he was disappointed but understood.

The information is widely believed to center on Saudi Arabia, birthplace of Osama bin Laden and 15 of the 19 hijackers. Saudi Arabia has vehemently denied supporting the hijackers.

11. Next: Fewer dead than Vietnam. 3rd: Fewer dead than WWII.
That kind of logic has no end.

who had as much to do with 9/11 as you or I.
