Anatomy of a frEEPER Love Letter
Here's a delightful little treasure that I found in my email inbox last night:

Hi from DU
I read DU every day, and I can't believe the meltdown going on. Should the Dems go Left or stay on the floor down by their dish waiting for a scrap from the GOP? Well, as a FReeper, I say you maniacs should take a hard crank to the Left. Not just your insane professors, but the Democrat party should openly embrace the Hate-America Left. Why try to hide it any more? For those Dems willing to snivel by their dish, we're just going to slap them hard with a rolled-up Sunday newspaper at the polls in '06 anyway. And then with a 2x4 in '08. Face it, the Democrat party has a wooden stake driven through its black and evil heart. Bwaaaaaahahahahaha!;) Peace and Love and Kittens and Rainbows! From FreepAmerica!

I usually don't respond to that sort of nonsense, but, I decided to send him a gentle note of acknowledgement:

Sure thing, sugar. Everything will be ok.

Love,
Violet

It was the least I could do before dissecting the guy's tripe in public. Let's cut to the meat of the matter. ;)

Hi from DU

It appears that the subject line was designed to lure me into opening the proverbial "snake nut can." I love that gag; it gets me every time. I would have read the email even if had been titled "Bwaaaaaahahahahaha from FreepAmerica!" But I appreciate cheeky gags as much as the next evil leftist maniac.

I read DU every day...

That's a good sign. He does it for the wrong reasons, but nevertheless, he does it. I don't believe that he fully understands the nature of the attraction he feels for DU.

He's like a little boy, infatuated with the "peace, love, kittens, and rainbows" girl. He's too immature to understand why he's so smitten, and being a dyed-in-the-wool "he man," he resolves his feelings by "spying" on her, teasing her, and dipping her hair in ink. His "Captain America" mission is really a daily ritual to explore the "opposite sex."

It's cute, but inappropriate for an adult. Perhaps he'll mature one day. Considering what his "parents" are teaching him, that may never happen.

...I can't believe the meltdown going on.

It's not difficult to imagine what "FreepAmerica" would be like if the tables were turned. With a morally defensible cause, and something real to bitch about, "FreepAmerica" would be the place to be - like DU is now.

If he's surprised by the "meltdown," he'll be absolutely dazzled by what we create with the raw material. Of course, he'll be here every day, monitoring our progress.

Behind his wrongheaded characterizations and agitprop trash talk is a message that's worth taking seriously. He's hungering for real competition. Unfortunately for him, his leaders are pushing hard to eliminate competition. If he has any decency and respect for fair play, eventually he'll understand the nature of the game - when all of "his" victories feel dirty and hollow.

Face it, the Democrat party has a wooden stake driven through its black and evil heart.

At least it has a heart, my friend. It is "evil" for the same reason that the Republican Party no longer has a heart: corruption. Face it, you're defending the "devil" himself - at the peril of our collective well-being. This is America, sugar, not "FreepAmerica." Everything will be ok when folks like you learn the function of the human "heart."

Bwaaaaaahahahahaha? lol

1. Freepers are over here in real numbers.
I started posting in August. There are a bunch posting since November 3.

I wonder how many Freepers will be left a year or two from now as the Bush deficit meltdown continues.

10. Really hard to say.
When you get hungry and broke your perspective changes.

I know a lot of 40 to 50 year old who are going to be extremely angry when they have to go to Community Colleges to retrain.

Profit will not mean much when your dollar has little or no value.

My Grandfather who came from a Republican family (owned oil wells in Kansas) became a yellow dog FDR Democrat. He knew Truman and Clarence Cannon very well. His family would have starved if it were not for his government job. During WWII some of these Republican relatives who he supported during the Depression complained about his son who was with the 8th Air Force bombing poor relatives in Germany. He never had much use for them after those comments.

Give this some time and bitter medicine people will start to vote their own interests. If their vote will actually be counted.

2. They confuse open dialogue and honest disagreement with "meltdown".
Silly Freeper. Try holding a contrary opinion to the groupthinkers over there. Can't happen. The Republican Right is becoming the very thing they despised for so many years....a totalitarian regime that exists only because they control the media and the ballot boxes. They've even become rather cult-like in their worshiping of their Supreme Leader. Incompetence is celibrated and the sayings of Father Bush will be memorized to prove that they are good Republicans who can be trusted to be a Party functionary.
