Is there a peace group here?
I've looked through DU groups, and all of the forums, but couldn't find one.

Is it under another name? Or under the auspices of another group?

If I missed something, please forgive and if you could, point me to the link.

1. There is not a DU Peace Forum that I know of.
Look under Activism Thread, different actions usually get posted there and sometimes under state and country forums. What state are you in?

3. Well, we are all peaceniks here in some shape form or fashion...
Think of us as the Peace Party (as opposed to the warmongering party). Therefore, if you are posting to these messageboards at all, then, in a sense, you are posting to a forum that supports peace. In fact, I'd wager that the reason that it ISN'T a separate forum is because it is just taken for granted as a "given", in that if you are a Democrat in 2004, it is highly unlikely that you support the Iraq fiasco.

4. I'm not.

I am very much a hawk. And I believe there are a number of other hawks on here as well.

5. I think this is a good idea
We should get some people behind it.

What sort of discussion are we looking forward?

I think a place to discuss pacifism and world peace would be worthwhile. It wouldn't have to address the current conflict directly in its mission.

There is a draft group which may overlap somewhat. They discuss Conscientious Objectors there.

There is also a Veterans and Military Issues forum

That talks more about the intricancies of the military as opposed to doing away with it altogether.
