"There comes a time"
"Ther comes a time when one must take the possition that is neither safe nor politic, nor popular, but he must do it because his consicence tells him it is right."

Martin Luther King

And the time for us to take possitions that are neither safe or poltic or popular is now.

The authority of government derives from the consent of the governed, yet we recognize that this authority is now a sham. The President and his men did not win this contest in any fair fashion. Moreover, this context has left us with no avenues for redress. We can petition, we can march and we can demonstrate, but now we must consider that our actions will not be politic, nor popular or safe. This is now our consicence that demands we act.

So what ARE YOU going to do now?

It is now the moment of decision...

11. Back to serious
Actually, I finished the class last Summer - grad anthro class - very cool and politic.

Right now, I'm doing qualitative methodology and urban anthro. My research is on marginal groups, the underclass, socio-economic systems, "globalism" etc. My free time is spent communicating with the politically uninformed, whether standing next to me at the supermarket checkout line or sitting next to me in a grad seminar.

7. Nothing this hard comes easy !

We are ready for the tasks ahead and I to believe that bulbs are going on!

Best not to rock the boat until the best possible moment.

I see the Republicans as sleeping gloating dogs right now, best to let them stay that way until BINGO TIME.

9. Yes indeed, this is a battle worth fighting for

NEVER quit, never quit!

We are the worker bees, we just keep doing our work even if no one else comes to help.

When I think how much we have accomplished since Nov.2nd, I am inspired.

The harder I work at this the less depressed I feel.

10. "There is a time. . .
. . .when the operation of the machine becomes so odious, makes you so sick at heart, that you can’t take part; you can’t even passively take part, and you’ve got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus and you’ve got to make it stop. And you’ve got to indicate to all the people who run it, to the people that own it, that unless you’re free, the machines will be prevented from working at all.
-Mario Savio, December 2nd 1964

It's time once again. But it won't be like it was in the 60s. This is far more serious. And what worked in the sixties (if, indeed, anything really did) will not work now. We must be smarter and stealthier. We must find the weakest point in the edifice of the structure of power in this country--which is not 'politick' but the national security state itself--and we must PUSH WITH ALL OUR MIGHT until it falls over.

Correct....

I was talking to my brother in law, who was far more adamant of how serous this was before the election... he now thinks it cannot be that bad....

It will be a hard long slog.
