I just saw Soledad O'Brian imply that all Muslims are terrorists...
She was interviewing a guy from the "Rand Corporation".
They were discussing a new Al Qaeda tape that came out yesterday.

Her last question was:

"You have said that these tapes are directed towards Muslims. How is that?"

And the answer that she let pass by without any further probing was:

"This is a worldwide movement, and these tapes are a way for them to communicate with followers throughout the world"

Soledad replied "Thanks for coming on. Bye."

From this exchange I got a clear impression that all Muslims are part of a worldwide terrorist movement.

What is wrong with American media? Why are they so quick and willing to sacrafice the truth? I think the media is a big reason for Americas problems today. They are commiting a huge disservice to people.

2. Train wreck phenom I guess.
I amazes me to watch a network pose as serious news and then spend 25% of it's time talking about Scott Peterson.

It's like watching the dumbing down of America in action.

6. I can't stand Soledad, I remember her from "The Site"

That was a show on the new MSNBC about technology, computers and the Internet back in 1996-7, before the net was really mainstream. She had this snooty *attitude* toward techies/geeks/nerds when interviewing them, as if she'd rather be anywhere else, and wanted to take a shower after they left. It seemed so obvious to us that she was a dimbulb (at least wrt tech and net) and hated doing the show. We watched it religiously in spite of her because it was often interesting, and people we liked were regular guests (such as Cliff Stoll before he went Luddite).

The show was pre-empted when Diana died and coverage was 24/7, and MSNBC just dropped it. It never came back on, though many of the regulars went on to TechTV. Soledad was just using it as a stepping stone.

Now, of course, I could be totally wrong. She could be highly techie and is the opposite of everything I've said, but I'm just going by the impression we got by watching her regularly.

This has nothing to do with anything, but it seemed like a good way to get it off my chest after being bottled up all these years.

7. not that CNN deserves the credit
but do you REALLY think one of their talking head (vacuum between the ears types) is going to PROBE? The answer was directed at followers of Bin Laden ... I don't think the interviewee intended to impugn ALL Muslims...

but...i have been wrong before...

8. So, let me get this straight...
...She "implied" that "all Muslims are terrorists" because she let an "answer" from a guest "pass by without any further probing" during an interview? What kind of horseshit logic is that?

The subject line in your post is highly misleading, and the post itself makes a rather dubious association between the remarks of a guest and what the host supposedly "implied" because she didn't do enough "probing" to your satisfaction - and at the tail end of the segment, to boot! Again, the question begs to be asked: what kind of horseshit logic is that?
