What are the best sources for news on the Internet?
No poll, I'm just trying to figure out where to go for news when the mainstream media is so screwed up.

I like to look at different papers around the world.

5. Some mainstream sources.
Christian Science Monitor ( www.csmonitor.com ) and The Economist ( www.economist.com ). Both lean old-school conservative, but provide about the best balance on straight news that is available. Of course, one must balance these with other sources, such as TomPaine.com (www.tompaine.com ) and The Nation ( www.thenation.com ), among others. I'm sure you'll get plenty of good references on this board, so I'll stop there, even though those are fairly obvious.

That site is the main reason I knew the Iraq war was BS from the start. They have a lot of good opinion pieces as well as news.
