I'd Rather Be Dead Than Dirtsville Red

Have you ever really looked at that list of the most expensive places to live that comes out every year? If you ever have, one thing jumps out at you, there all in blue states.

Why is this? Is it because of the locations. Are they by the water, at the beach or in the mountains? Well, sorta. But they all seem to have something else in common. LIBERALISM.

Whether it's a town, city or a state, if it's expensive it's liberal and the bluer it is, the more it costs to live there.

San Francisco, Honolulu, Seattle, LA and Key West. Even in Texas, Austin is more expensive than Dallas.

The answer is obvious. NOBODY wants to live around conservatives. People will pay mega-bucks for a closet in a crowded, high-crime area before they will live next-door to a bible-thumping, fetus-loving, gay-hating, flag-waving, pick-up truck driving, cream corn eating, nose picking moron. People just seem to hate the "moral values crowd" and they're willing to pay big bucks to get away from them.

The environment doesn't seem to matter. Take West Virgina for instance. WV is so stunning beautiful it takes your breath away. But if you check the housing prices they're cheap. So what's the problem? It's the people stoopid. If the conservatives of WV packed up and moved to a redder place, like Dirtsville Texas, the property values of beautiful West Virginia would sky rocket.

The proof is in the prices. Conservatives are kinda like "human skunks", everyone wants to stay as far away as possible. Hell, Bush-loving Republicans are so repulsive, that even their children are forced to move to blue states (or Iraq) just to get work.

If your a blue in a red state don't despair. All you have to do to get rich is pick a very small town, buy the whole damn thing (with 1000 of your friends) and put up a "LIBERALS ONLY" sign. Then just sit back and watch the miracle. Believe me they will come and spend the money. Just make sure you can guarantee the happy new residents that their "LIBERALS ONLY" town has NO traces of "conservative" left. Think about it and if you decide to do it, don't forget the disinfectant. Or whatever works on "SKUNKS". Tomato juice, anyone?

Wanted to add something to the Red State/ Blue State debate. This can go under Property values red/blue 101.

1. well, also the high paying jobs are in the blue areas
even here in Texas: I live in Fort Worth/Tarrant county which is resoundingly red, Dallas county damn near went blue.

If I wanted to put up with the ungodly traffic and drive 45 miles one way to work, I could make significantly more money in Dallas. I do not want to do that however; I prefer to stay sane, and that commute would make me crazy.

Taxes are higher in Dallas and the same house costs more to buy or build in Dallas. Pace of life is more hectic and a bit crazier in Dallas too.

Just some thoughts....

2. Thankyou for your input yellowdog
My computer's been broke so I didn't get to rant before. I'm thinking about hammering the culture war issue. I'm writing something on the "cleric" Pat Robertson now.

5. Not so fast

Take away "bible-thumping and gay-hating" and you have friends of mine and many other decent persons. My mother loved all her children from conception on, my dead war hero Uncle's flag is waved from my barn and the other three are just as normal and a choice.

And every damn one of my friends that hold all or some of these traits are as liberal as the day is long. This elitist snobbery needs to stop.

Enjoy your 4x8 padlocked city dwelling cell where the muggers and other non-nose pickers are waiting to greet you a good day or night and I'll suffer among the crowing roosters, flapping flags, truck driving proud mothers and have a plate of Granny's cream corn in your honor.

7. The violent crime rate
is higher in Florida, Louisiana and South Carolina than it is in California, New York or Massachusetts.
Look like the muggers moved to the red states!

8. A couple of weeks ago, there was a comparison of red/blue crime rates
San Francisco, New Orleans and Boston are roughly the ame size. Guess which city has the lowes crime rate? Boston up here in heathen Massachusetts.

As I recall, the only 'blue' city which made the top ten was Detroit.

6. As Josef Goebbels said
"Besser todt als rot"

"Better dead than red"

Just one more thing we stole from the Nazis.
